Is d wade the comp? Or is it simply a better version of Jimmy butler? One who actually shoots 3’s?
Where he definitely compares to both is in the big moments already, always there in the final minutes for a key steal, block, rebound or 3 pointer. He doesn’t shrink in thr brightest lights just like them. And with that much drive he’s not an a hole, which Jimmy could be sometimes .
This is not a slight to VJ at all, but this comparison is pretty wild. Wade was playing in a different era with way less scoring and slower pace putting up those numbers.
I don’t hate the comparison to Wade as a player or anything, I definitely see it, but it was like a whole different sport back then lol
VJ went off last night. The last 3 he hit was so satisfying after they couldn’t seem to shut down Morant all game.
And yet they have him at #5 in rookie ladder.
Dude is the single most clutch rookie I’ve seen in a while. He impacts wins clearly and visibly on a non-lottery team. All the other rookies are on losing teams and have similar or worse stats.
