Rasmus Hojlund has been enjoying his football at Napoli this season, but the Dane still needs to secure a deal with the current Serie A champions.
A decision was made to send Rasmus Hojlund on loan at the start of the season because Ruben Amorim had no plans for the Danish international.
Benjamin Sesko arrived from RB Leipzig but has since scored just two goals. That means United have not completely fixed their issues in front of the goal.
Meanwhile, Hojlund has scored nine goals to his name for Napoli, who are trying to defend the Italian title. He recently revealed that a call from Antonio Conte came after United’s snub, leaving him excited to work with the experienced Italian coach.

Although Hojlund has more to prove between now and the end of the season, his reputation is in a lot stronger place than it was this time last year when the pressures of Old Trafford were mounting on the striker.

Napoli sporting director, Giovanni Manna, is confident that all parties involved are moving towards a positive outcome that will see Hojlund become a permanent signing.
The 22-year-old arrived in Naples last summer on loan with an option to buy for £43 million.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, Manna explained the club faced stiff competition for Hojlund’s signature, but they are now proud to have got it done.
“We did everything we could to sign him,” Manna said.
“There was more storied clubs interested, but his will was crucial, and we are proud of it.
“We had no doubts. Rasmus is decisive in terms of numbers, but also in how he understands the coach’s input. This makes a difference.”
The deal in question includes an option to buy that becomes an obligation if Napoli qualify for the Champions League.
Manna added: “There’s an option to buy and an obligation to buy if we qualify for the Champions League. The player considers himself a Napoli player, and the same goes for us.”

The sporting director stressed that he believes the transfer is a ‘formality’ in the same interview.
When is Rasmus Hojlund in action next?
Napoli take on Lazio in Serie A on Sunday.
It will be a chance for Hojlund to add to his tally of nine goals, with the next strike set to take the Dane to double figures.
Napoli are currently third in the standings as Inter Milan lead the way in Italy. They are two points clear of Conte’s men after playing 16 matches.
