Nationals reportedly leaving MASN for MLB-controlled local broadcasts

i don’t really know much about the perception of this, is this a good thing or a bad one?
The long Nationals nightmare is now over
Keep in mind that the primary source for this article appears to be the same TalkNats report that the sub was (understandably) rolling its collective eyes at earlier today.
So they’ll be on monumental in how long??
See….you…later was apparently prophetic
Probably good news for Nats fans… But the main shoe I’m waiting to see drop is what ESPN’s local streaming option looks like. MLB dropped that news without any information… And I’m terrified to see how Disney’s corporate bullshitery screws us all over.
As long as the Nats don’t end up on Monumental I am happy.
Monumental somehow has an even worse app than MASN which is honestly impressive.
An actual beat reporter, not this TalkNats dimwit, clarified that the deal did not end at the end of the year, it ends in February. They’re reportedly still negotiating, nothing is set at this point.
This is not true. TalkNats is not a reporter, just a guy on Twitter who makes stuff up. The Nats sub is aware of this; Andrew Golden, an actual beat reporter for the Post, debunked this earlier today.
No fair….If the Nats get to leave this shitty network, we should get to, too 😔
MASN sucks
If any of this is true, it very much sounds to me like an attempt to leverage MLB.TV to get a better bid from traditional RSNs like MSN, NBC Sports, and, yes, MASN.
As a Northern VA Orioles fan, will I still be in network for Orioles games? Or does my MLBtv now only blackout nats?
Will they still be blacked out in NC?
Based on the provenance, sounds like it’s not true yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised. MLB has been making a play to centralize all of these broadcasts and as Fanduel Sports or whatever it’s called by next year dies, MASN is going to be the next domino to fall.
But wouldn’t that mean you’d need ESPN for Nationals baseball?
