Craig Button on Macklin Celebrini Olympic Prediction | EP 115 Should Misa Stay in NHL?

Craig Button predicted that Macklin Celebrini would make the Canadian Olympic team in July. What made him so confident in the San Jose Sharks’ teen sensation?

The TSN Draft guru also discusses Michael Misa’s performance so far at the World Junior Championships and his top 2026 Draft prospects.

Does Button think that Misa should return to the San Jose Sharks after WJCs, or go back to the OHL? Is Gavin McKenna still No. 1 on his 2026 Draft board?

Button shares his thoughts on Sam Dickinson, Leo Sahlin Wallenius, Igor Chernyshov, and keeping Mario Ferraro, too.

Of course, San Jose Sharks legend Dan Boyle has won an Olympic gold medal for Canada, in 2010.

Dan shares his experiences as an Olympic taxi squad member in 2006 and starring in the 2010 Winter Games. What’s his advice to Celebrini?

In addition, Sharks insider Sheng Peng, prospects guru Keegan McNally, and Sharks expert Zubair Jeewanjee talk about San Jose’s recent winning streak, Zack Ostapchuk, Yaroslav Askarov, the Kiefer Sherwood rumor, and what GM Mike Grier should do with his many UFA’s.

  1. I think Zubair is right on that Celebrini turnover against Minnesota and I’m glad someone else noticed it. There was a reverse angle and it definitely looked like he was trying to flip it over the top and just whiffed on it.

  2. I’ve seen Celebrini mistakes cost a couple of goals… but, I mean… he’s probably responsible for 80% of the goals for the sharks AND he plays in all zones.… there are NO perfect players… and Celebrini is as close to it as ANYONE is going to get in this league. The fact that he’s so young, and THIS good is mind-boggling. With good health, he’s a lock to become HOF material. …and he’s A SHARK!!!! 🦈 #Blessed

  3. love zubair's point about cherny showing his iq by playing to the level of his linemate. great to have it broken down. i agree there is top line winger potential in there. also the point on Grier deserving more credit to this point. Just one ask if you guys can talk a bit more about the kids in Cuda for discussion.
i like how Musty, Bystedt and Halty with the fight I saw as well are developing as well. Not sure on Lund. They all need more time to cook but that IQ and mature game is what differentiates him from Musty who's still trying out his limits. have similar issue with Smitty tbh. Smitty has elite vision and hands and even Musty may have more offensive flair perhaps but I prefer the meat and potato of Cherny's game along with superior IQ/size with Celly.
btw, it looks like Cagnoni is plateuing a bit. He looks good on PP but looks like the same guy last year with issue on his own end. His edge work and skating limits him more on D than offense imo in terms of retrieval and breakout skating when guys are on him.
Would love to hear if you guys watched the WJC, Misa seems to be getting back on track with player of the game and hopefully he'll reduce the gap with Schaefer in the future. LSW looks amazing with 3 pts game. I don't want to overreact but he looks more poised and steady than Sam ever did on the PP. Skates well and just act like a safety valve. I don't want to say Forsling since that's far a way but pls look into LSW.
