Hiroki Kuroda is one of the most consistent players of all time

  1. Pujols from ’03-’09 was absurdly consistent, too. There’s a reason he was called The Machine.

  2. Absolute MVP of MLB Power Pros 2008 season mode. Never went early in any drafts so you could pick him up late, and then he’d be an absolute anchor of your rotation for all 10 years.

  3. Not career but Griffey Jr had back to back years in the 90’s that were almost the exact same. I remember looking at the amazed because almost every stat is the same or a few off.

  4. Dodgers of that period had a lot of very good, underrated Asian pitchers between Kuroda, Kuo, and Saito. They don’t seem to get talked about too much, even though Saito had a really damn good career in the states.

  5. He also let the Yankees sign him to 1 year contracts.  Insane.  Dude was the best.

  6. Important context. [He took a line drive straight to the dome in 2009 which was his only year he didn’t pitch 30+ games](https://youtu.be/Tp50zvl8UN4?si=KKj2ShbeES0Osu_V) (NSFW he was fine in a month or two and even waved as he was taken off the mound if I remember correctly but still scary!). He’s even more consistent than he looks!

  7. I remember leaving in the middle of a date after my friend texted me he had a no-hitter going. He didnt get the no hitter and we never had another date. One of my favorites when he was with the Dodgers.

  8. Kuroda was a pretty good pitcher for the Yankees. Looking back, sub 3.5 era isn’t bad at all. Knew what to expect from Hiroki.
