Hope so. Penix/Cousins situation is inexcusable. As much as Raheem is not the guy, I’m going to stay optimistic and hope some change is better than no change.

I don’t understand. I’m very high on what Fontenot has done.
The draft has been hit and miss but Bijan, London, Walker, Pearce, were 1st round hits and Penix and Pitts are still big parts of the franchise. I loved the Pearce trade(EDGE class this year has no one as good as Pearce except maybe Rueben Bain.). If you take his very first draft off the board(Pitts, Richie Grant, Jalen Mayfield) his drafts have been pretty good. 2024 and 2025 drafts especially look like massive successes so far and if Penix didn’t tear his ACL we would be set up to go on a massive spending spree(now we have to pay a qb instead)
Where Terry was great was scouting underutilized guys from other teams. Kaden Ellis, Divine Diablo, Mike Hughes, and Charlie Woerner have been awesome pickups. Obviously bringing in Jesse Bates was a huge win. Darnell Mooney fit like a glove until he had a weird year this year. Mccloud was a great WR3/4 until he had his issues(gambling? Bad attitude? Still don’t know what happened there).
What buried him are two positions, QB and kicker. Paying Kirk and drafting Penix is the big one. I get what he was doing. We could compete with Kirk for a few years and then switch over to Penix. The QB position was double bubble wrapped. Then we have Kirk cousins lying about his injury status and ruining are chances in the 2024 season. He was playing at like 40% and cost us a ton of games. Then this year we have Penix playing inconsistent but overall he looks like a franchise guy. Cue losing streak, Penix injury, and now we have no good options. Then the kicker musical chairs just made us look inept.
I think Terry is a good GM. I’m not heartbroken by this change but I would’ve like to see him stay.

This makes no sense. If you are moving on from Terry do it in conjunction with Morris. What GM is gunna wanna be saddled with a hot seat coach year one, especially one of Morris’ caliber.
If him, Morris, and McKay don’t all go, it’s meaningless

Dianna Russini is the last person on earth I’d trust with these kinds of reports. I don’t think she’s just making it up, but there’s a difference between that some executive around the league guesses he’s fired based on his judgement, and expectations based on the word inside the building.
If you read the quote from Russini, it’s the former. So a nothing burger right now.
