KAT is getting a ton of slander recently, but honestly Brunson is getting away with murder throughout the first 3 quarters of games just because he hits 4-5 tough shots in the 4th. It shouldn’t be like this at this stage of our project.

  1. Both of them and Bridges were disappointing tonight. If I’m wrong, maybe I didn’t watch closely enough because I kept not looking…

  2. Brunson’s defense has been really bad despite his elite offense. At least before he was keeping guys in front of him earlier in the year but rn he seems to be caught lacking too often. Champangie and NAW went off on him. VJ and Maxey killed him this game.

  3. +/- is just one metric. Kolek is good at feeding the ball to KAT but when we play against teams with lots of big men (ex. Hawks), KAT’s off minutes hurt Brunson more than the other way around. That said, yeah I agree Brunson hasn’t been playing perfectly either. I think KAT was a much bigger help tonight for instance.

  4. I really want to see us play through KAT early and hand the ball off to Brunson late. It feels like the most logical play and I feel insane watching these games.

  5. I was at the game. KAT was not the problem tonight. Even did fine against Embiid. Brunson HAS TO get off the ball faster. Over dribbling against good defenders is only going to lead to bad shots or turnovers. We only made it a game at the end of the 3rd early 4th with him on the bench

  6. Doesn’t this just show they’re about equally impactful offensively, but very different defensively?

  9. I really believe the Brunson/KAT experiment will get us over the hump.

    I think we should expect more from each of them, but also Mikal, OG, Hart can’t disappear at the same time. We need at least 2 of those guys to have impact.

  12. Ive been curious how the numbers treat him this year relative to last.

    It feels worse but obviously it was never a strength. Definitely wonder if hes been quantifiable worse though.

  13. Agree. That’s why MB needs to stagger KAT/JB, so they aren’t only floor together in long stretches

  16. Teams are putting an enormous amount of defensive pressure on Brunson and his teammates are not giving him the support that’s needed.

    Kat has had the same issues his whole career. He’s the piece that will eventually get moved, esp w that massive contract

    A lineup of Brunson, Bridges, OG, KAT, and Hart/Robinson should be unstoppable.
