As a jets fan, wtf were you guys thinking !? You guys could’ve got a haul for the first pick. Jets would’ve traded their 2 firsts and next year first for the first pick.
You really think coaches want to be a HC under a lame duck GM who is on the verge of being fired? good luck with that.
Don’t be suprised if a handful of coaches turn down Giants
Preferably would have been nailing the GM and HC but I guess Mara can only make the wrong decision.
The pick totally matters. Although the HC hire is probably more important between the two, getting the #1 pick would’ve meant we could’ve gotten a haul of picks for a team desperate for a QB
This sub is absolutely insufferable rn.
the pick matters because you can trade it. if we end up with pick 6 and no 2nd rounder it’s a lot worse than trading pick 2 for multiple 1sts/2nds
Please, Stefanski, please. 🙏
When did it become OK to not be greedy? Why can’t Giants have a good head coach AND a haul of draft picks? This opportunity here was generational.
Enough with the copium. Losing out on a top 2 pick is a total brutal bummer, even if the HC hire is the most important decision
Wait, so Mara is hiring Bonnie Blue?
The head coaching position is a lot more attractive with the First overall pick!
If we had tanked properly last year we’d have cam ward and no Carter. The picks would’ve been nice, but I’m glad Dart looked good today and were still going to have a top 5 or 6 draft pick for the new HC
The pig eagles not repeating in the only thing that matters to me.
Would the Pats trade Drake Maye for culture wins? Exactly.
What haul were Giant fans expecting? The Raiders are professional tankers. They were never giving up number one.
And I don’t see anyone giving up a haul for Moore.
Raiders are winning right now we could’ve picked first 😂
Two things can be true. Whatever I’m over this argument. Hopefully we won’t be having this same debate next year
The thing that really matters but also doesn’t because our organization is cowardly is Schoen not being fired… absolutely insane
I love all of these idiotic justifications for our team being run by morons. “We dont need a qb, why want #1 pick” “we need coach mor den picks”. WE NEED IT ALL and in a perfect world we’d get new ownership to boot. Get the #1 pick and trade for what you want if you dont want the pick, jesus fucking christ
HC, and GM if Schoen leaves, won’t matter until structural issues within the organization are fixed. Player personnel director is supposed to be below GM but when the person in that position is an owner that not what happens.
OP is right. But it’s too fresh and we still reeling from the win.
It would have been nice to have a higher pick but what does crying about it do? I’d rather they make the right pick
At least it silents the bs back&forth of if Dart’s the qb of the future or should we draft Mendoza or Moore
These two things have nothing to do with each other and knowing how this front office works, I seriously doubt we nail the HC too
PREACH
> one of two very consequential events, neither of which are interdependent of one another, no longer matters because the other is more important
Fellas, what are we even doing here?
I just posted saying the same thing. *This* is what everyone seems to be missing. Maybe these guys are too young and they’ve only ever dealt with the despair but Coaches, Coordinators, and real front offices make teams successful. This team hasn’t had any fucking character since Coughlin and the only character these commenters want to be are fucking losers. News flash, getting the #1 or #2 pick and trading it doesn’t mean success. You still have to shoot for the prospect to be good, then, and this is really important. You have to COACH THEM. These players have been fighting for nothing. There’s no purpose behind their play and with the right staff, that changes dramatically. The guys who are already looking like young stars will blossom. The guys you thought were busts can turn into solid players just like that under the right scheme and very importantly the culture.

Bingo. Preach. 💯
Honestly giants fans gotta realize they’re not the only bad team in the league and just like winning a SB only one team gets 1oa each year. I get it’s better to have that pick n there was a chance a few weeks back but Dallas and Vegas both suck. Out of all the things to get pissed about I’m not that fixated on a better draft pick
This whole discussion is meaningless and this was obviously going to be the end result if you’ve seen Giants football the last decade
We helped out the Cowboys and shot ourselves in the foot just so Schoen can keep his job another year
I love when the coach plays the game and scores the TDs.
Absolutely
Rex Ryan. For the lulz
Are we really in the year 2026 saying a trading 1.01 for two firsts would not have helped this franchise?
Jaguars purposely tanked and got Trevor Lawrence
Patriots purposely tanked and got Drake Maye
Commanders purposely tanked and got Jayden Daniela
Giants meanwhile consistently never get any of these guys cause they decide to treat the last two games of a losing season as the Super Bowl
Why didn’t the Giants just win the Super Bowl and get the first pick? Are they stupid or something?
Agreed, still having a top 10 pick when we already have a young talented QB is still great
Imagine having the #1 pick and teams selling their souls for Mendoza? Nah let’s run our only talent we have on offense out there with no support and have him try to win games.
Patriots went 4-13 in 2024 with their first year QB, just like the Giants, while also losing the 3rd overall pick late in the season. They picked 4th, hired their new coach and went 14-3 the very next year
Crucify me but didn’t we try this last year with not “resting starters” to lose games for the no1 pick ..
Did that pay off well ?
Greg Olsen for HC!
Doesn’t matter with schoen. Would have drafted two more busts with picks
The potential retread HCs this year is better than I can remember. This is honestly a great year to have a high percentage roll to at least get our franchise back on track.
