  1. Bo is the last piece for me. No Tucker. With Okamoto, this moves Barget to the OF who needs to play everyday,. Ern-Dog becomes super utility or even replaces Jimenez at SS if his bat struggles.

  2. Great conversation! I have a question as a new listener: what is the significance of the "Gate 14" title? I assume it is a reference to the stadium, but I have not been to a game in nearly twenty years, and can't recall any particular significance to that particular gate. My thanks to anyone who can help!

  3. .691 OPS for Barger against lefties if you combine regular season and postseason last year. That's pretty good. His advanced stats or metrics improved over the previous season albleit not a lot data, but improvement was there. Not calling for Barger to start against every lefty, but if he continues to improve he could be an every day starter even this season.

  4. I really hope they go aggressively for both Bo & Tucker. Uber expensive (it's not my money to spend, but if I had I would…) and it would create a 5 year window at least – and that makes money for Rogers!

    Could you imagine this line-up:

    1. Springer (R) – DH (platooning with Santander)
    2. Tucker (L) – RF
    3. Bo (R) – 2B
    4. Vladdy (R) – 1B
    5. Santander (S) – LF
    6. Okamoto (R) – 3B
    7. Varsho (L) – CF
    8. Kirk (R) – C
    9. Gimenez (L) – SS

With Heinemam, Clement, Barger & Lukes / Schneider warming the pine.

Not to think of our rotation:
    Cease
    Gausman
    Bieber
    Berrios / Ponce
    Yesavage

Then if need trade aggressively for an elite bullpen arm or closer.

    I'm getting excited!

  5. Bo needs to come back simply for the Vibes. And I think the only way he doesn't return is if Atkins doesn't offer him a contract.

Tucker coming over would be awesome. But that might mean a Barger trade.

Barger would be a great headliner for a Mason Miller trade

Barger Loperfido Berrios (half salary retained) and add a prospect like Nimmala or King

  6. Yeah people forget how long the season is and the proof is in the pudding. Varsho played 70 games, Gime played 100, will Springer play another 140 with an aging body? Santander played like50, the season is SO long and we can still get Bo or Tucker.

  7. Is there a world where we trade Berrios and Santander to free up salary and maybe give Tucker the bag? I only ask cause I don’t see rogers going to 350M a year. They are at 308 now. They gotta dump some salary imo . Santander and Berrios would be like 40-45 freed up.

  8. I've been saying this for maybe almost 2 years. Everyone vastly overvalues Bo on the contract side. He has missed a lot of games with leg injuries over the past 3 seasons. Can anyone name me a ballplayer that got paid after missing games with leg injuries and almost 100 games from leg injuries in 3 seasons? I cant think of anyone off the top of my head. Bo is damaged goods, and his contract will convey it. He might get a 5 160, but that contract is going to have to have outs for whatever team signs him. It wouldn't shock me if he ends up 4 years 110 to 130.

  9. Barger, Clement, and Santander can also be a mini platoon in the OF if we do get Bo (as in if Santander goes to right with Clement and left with Barger, he won't swap batting). Just swap whoever the hell we want, it's pretty fun. It's so fun having a team of so many guys that we can literally say I choose you! like a pokemon and have the perfect guy for literally every situation.

  10. I know they’ve been busy but I look at it this way, they lost two better pictures than they got. They already had Bo so if they lose him to me, they are weaker than they were last year and if they get Tucker then I think they’re as good maybe even a little better than last year. to me they still don’t have that number one closer and that’s what cost the World Series last year not the offence not the defense. It was the lack of a true number one closer.

  11. They have enough money to grab Both Tucker and Bichette, and Vladdly specifically requested him to comeback, i don't get why everyones ignoring this 😂. You don't wanna spoil the Chemistry with Bo & Vladdy. They are like Ryu & Ken. Lastly, Bo can run 2nd base up some Flexibility and Tuckers role won't clash and is the Torchbearer to move on from Springer [hes pretty much off the books]…. The Verdict: Get BOTH!!!!

  12. One thing I picked up on after watching this awesome podcast is that if they don't get Tucker this year, they're gonna have an awful time replacing Springer next year with the weak free agent class (except for skubal). I was thinking theyd go after Steven Kwan, but it turns out he's not a free agent until 2027.

  13. One major component to this signing is we just opened the door for Japanese players who are going to see this is a top destination for players. This won't be the last Japanese signing in Toronto
