Velocity gets you drafted, movement and location helps in the long run, but mind games make you a legend.
Pedro is my all time favorite non-Mets pitcher but Mad Dog is a very close second. I love hearing him wax on about pitching and his understanding and knowledge of hitters and what they’re doing and how he adjusted to them and set them up, sometimes over months or years.
I could listen to this dude talk ball all day

I still don’t know how this guy wasn’t a cub for life. One of the greatest baseball tragedies of my childhood was seeing him leave Chicago.
