  1. We live in an age where overcomplication is the norm, especially among fans on social media. Montreal had no choice but to call up Fowler because they had 2 goalies who were not getting the job done. I suspect that the intention all along was to buy time for Monty (and to a lesser extent Dobes) to straighten out. Neither Hughes or St. Louis are the types of guys who would want to enter the playoffs with 2 inexperienced goalies, so yes Fowler is going back down. They can afford to be patient and with any luck, next year the Habs could fetch a nice price for Monty at the trade deadline.

  2. Lets stay in reality here. Kurby Tack has not much time to proove he can make a comeback. Two consecutive years his injured knee needed operations add a broken foot at the end of that same injured leg??? That is a lot for any player
to have to surmount. ask Carey Price now retired how his knee is going now? ask Bobby Orr who has been through knee surgeries also? we all cross our fingers that Kurby can make a healthy come back that would be great. But little time left to proove he can get another contract for his ends at the end of this season. Will and Cana habs take a chance to resign Kurby? Can Habs take a chance on Patrick Laine also ?? Considereng the chairs that need to be filled still?

  3. 7:34 Always remember that stats are there as tools for decision-making, but they cannot drive decision-making on their own because some (very important) information is not recorded in statistics. Moreover, even according to the commercials: past performance does not guarantee future results. We are not likely to get to the Stanley Cup finals this year, but if we develop Fowler the right way, we might within two years! … Laine has to go on the PP someplace, and 5v5 I am not sure yet.

  4. Great that you are getting sponsors but when you say "Just ready for Christmas", sorry but looks like you are late unless it's christmas 2026 😀

  5. Matheson, Hutson, Dobson have all been very strong offensively while the defence has been a weak point. Guhle is exactly the shut down defenceman that the habs need to balance out the lineup

  6. Just a note: Tree (sic 😊) of the Habs best players are on the small side (Hutson, Caufield, Demidov). And it's not like Suzuki is a giant either.
    "Faut s'grossir". 😂

  7. I don’t see a role for Laine on a healthy team. Hopefully they can find him a team that needs some PP help and get a chance to play. Exciting thinking about Guhle, Newhook, Dach, and Evans all back at some point. Going to be some bottom 6 decisions to be made but depth is a good problem have

  8. @habsdiget told you guys about Montembeault and now it came from his mouth. It was too evident that this was the reason of his poor play. Suzuki had said so himself that he was stressed because he wanted to receive a call to be on team Canada…. Like I said Montembeault is 29 so he still has a shot in 4 years time

  9. Guys Fowler plays with zero pressure and that makes a tone of difference. all the pressure is on Montembeault and Dobes. @habs_digest

  10. Getting Evans back may be the single most important thing here. Or Guhle, if he can stay healthy (which I'm not counting on). Dach and Laine? Don't even bother.

  11. Just watched the Sweden vs Czechia gold medal game…if I'm not mistaken they named Hage most valuable forward in the award ceremonies after the game. Anyone else catch that? Was it something else he was announced for? 🤔

  12. Moneypuck changed the way they are computing the xgoals and EVERY goalie in the league were removed an average of 5 saved xgoals.

I had wrote an email to moneypuck 3 weeks ago to let them know about an error in their model because I had noticed all goalies had saved more that 300 goals above expected, which didn't make sense because this should be near 0.

They seem to have fixed the issue (whether or not it was based on the email I had sent)… They didn't reply to my email 😅 Glad it's finally fixed.

  13. Salary savings from Laine, Gallagher and Anderson combined will be around 20 million.
I love what Gally and Josh are bringing but they're salaries don't match the outcome.
    Would they take a cut?
    Gally probably yes.
To judge Laine would not be fair because he's to fragile to play 70+ games.
I'd keep Dach but definitely not for more salary.
We need to consider Demidov's contract extension.
And if Kapanen continues at that level…
Fowler will follow in two years with a bigger contract.
I believe the core looks amazing but there's something to improve for becoming a serious contender.
    Way to go boys!
    Go Habs Go
