The lineage of greatness at Duke has found its newest torchbearer in Cameron Boozer.

The freshman phenom, son of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, delivered a masterclass in efficiency Tuesday night, leading No. 6 Duke to an 84-73 comeback victory over No. 20 Louisville. Despite trailing by as many as 12 points in the first half—their largest deficit of the season—the Blue Devils relied on Boozer to anchor a second-half surge that kept their perfect Atlantic Coast Conference record intact.

Boozer finished the night with 27 points, marking his eighth game with at least 25 points this season. That total currently leads all of Division I, cementing his status as the most productive freshman in the country.

What stood out most at the KFC Yum! Center was not just the volume of Boozer’s scoring, but the surgical nature of it. Shooting 10-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, Boozer achieved a rare feat in program history.

Boozer now holds the Duke freshman record for the most games featuring at least 25 points and a 90% true shooting percentage. On Tuesday, he missed only two shots the entire night while adding eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals to his stat line.

The win moved Duke to 14-1 overall and 3-0 in the ACC. Boozer is currently pacing the conference with a scoring average of 23.0 points per game, complemented by 9.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists.

The Cardinals (11-4) appeared to have the upper hand early, shooting 47% in the first half to take a 47-38 lead into the locker room. However, Duke’s defense tightened after the break, limiting Louisville to just 32% shooting in the second half. Boozer’s brother, Cayden Boozer, also contributed to the effort, helping facilitate an offense that shot a blistering 71% in the final period.

As the 2026 NBA Draft approaches, Boozer is widely projected as a top-three selection. For now, his focus remains on a deep March run, where his ability to “drive the bus” for the Blue Devils could lead to the program’s next national title.
