The top line the last two games have been brutal. Period. MacKinnon, Necas, and Lehky were no shows.
Stars still living rent free I see
I think the idea that this is the 4th loss of the season is not a big deal. But I think it is a big deal that both of these games, despite the schedule, injuries, breakdowns, problems, both were winnable if the power play did not go 0-6 or whatever. One PP goal in either one of the games and we walk away with a point. Same reason we lost against Dallas last year.
Dallas lost so they didnt really hurt themselves much. However, some warning signs. Top line has been absolutely brutal on D and on O. TBH, all season long, I havent seen them consistently putting pressure on opposition in the O zone. What I been seeing is them defending a lot and not sustaining anything on O. Just watch how the Oil is doing it and getting other teams on the cycle. Our top line is one pass, then they either turn it over, a bad pass, or dump and chase where the other team gains possession. After that, they defend the rest of the shift – and defend poorly – then end up changing. Not to mention their struggle on PP. Mac, Necas, Makar must be better. The rest of the team, I have no concerns pretty much – other than health.
I need to bring this to everyone's attention.
Here is the numbers for the Power play opportunity since the beginning of the season.
Below I added up all the power plays the Avs had and goals since the beginning of the season.
October Avs had 53 Power plays scored on 8
November Avs had 49 Power plays, scored on 7
December Avs had 46 Power plays, Avs scored in 4
January so far
Avs had 11 Power plays and scored on 2.
Doing my research B. Nelson scored most of the power plays goals. Avs gave up a few short handed goals too. Didn't want to count them. It might have been 4.
Power plays total 159 scored on 21.
If Bednar thinks the PP will fix itself he is crazy. If someone can pass this along to Bednar and Hakstol and maybe the team.. It might help, right now the Avs are throwing away opportunities to score. How I got the monthly totals I went to every game and added them up.
Avalanche aren't as good as we thought. On the plus side, the rest of the west look very beatable and now it's the eastern teams who look better. 2 weeks ago, it seemed like the exact opposite. Amazing how quickly things can change
3 games in 4 days against 3 hungry high quality teams is rough. Injuries take a toll too. They were never out of these two losses either and the games weren’t that bad. Just tip the hat to the two Florida teams, toss these in the trash and move on.
Hahahahahahaha GO BOLTS YEAH BOY LETS MEET IN THE FINAL AGAIN
These 2 games expose a complete lack of Leadership without Landy in the Locker Room. Fucking sad😢
Ugh miss E and his knowledge.
