You know what day it is
Those Habs just refuse to lose… Big game tonight but I’m excited to see the rematch from night 1 on Saturday
My car better be in the front yard tonight.
Detroit vs Vancouver
Boston vs Calgary
Montreal vs Florida (please don’t go to OT)
Buffalo @ NYR
Toronto @ Philly
Ottawa @ Colorado
All but Tampa playing tonight, Montreal/Florida is the only divisional game happening. I still expect this to be a night where the rest of the division annoys us.
If you haven’t already, please go watch the Hofer GIF.

Got a couple bootleg centennials coming in and I’m stoked.

Well… she’s time to take back that top spot in the division again. Tampa and Montreal starting to become a bit of an annoyance here
The Sheet (Jan 7): Jeff Marek on Rasmus Andersson “I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up with the Detroit Red Wings to be honest with you.” Says they need one more top 4 defenseman.
Special shoutout to the guy in the previous game thread who said that the Sens rebuild is exactly at the place Wings should be in right now.
Can’t stand seeing Tampa up there with us. I think I’d rather see Toronto instead battling it out with them
New beer league season started last night, Red Winfs hockey tonight, life is good.
I can see it now. 1st round matchup against Tampa Bay.
They were the team to give us the final boot out of the playoffs to begin our downfall. Now we’re going to do the same to them. It’d be a great storyline.
Every game feels must win. Brutal division this year.
As of now Buffalo is the only Atlantic team below us in the standings that would catch us in points if they won all their games in hand. Division’s tighter than my asshole after cheap Chinese but we have at least gained some ground on Ottawa and Boston now who would still be 5 and 6 points, respectively, behind if they won their games in hand
My Hockey Authentic centennial finally shipped and its my first premium real stitching jersey. First wings jersey since the 2014 winter classic, I mostly get Walleye blanks.
Mega stoked, my friends don’t understand the appeal at all or how long the wait has felt lol.
Wallinder had a good fight last night. You love to see it.
Most normal people will look at the weather out here today, 35 snowy mix, and be like I’m going to stay inside and get cozy.
Me…apparently I’d rather go hiking in that rather then risk staying in all day and being bored. Alright ok, fuck it, you’ll be cold and miserable but at least you’ll be doing something….
I’m not a smart man
(First person plural pronoun) + (psychotic chihuahua with a dim witted cat for an adventure buddy) + (a long narrow runner attached to footwear for gliding over snow)
Make it fucking happen.
Binnington not leaving the net after getting blown up for 7 while Hofer hides in the locker room and Monty’s losing it is one of the funniest clips so far this season.
What’s a good first date without alcohol bc dry January lmao
Can’t believe I missed [this](https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTByXFwjhcu/?igsh=MTlhc213azI3eXRvag==). Dadbot calling his daughter “mid” was priceless. The whole video is gold.
Alright Avalanche let’s try this again…you play to win the game….beat the stupid senators
Just thought I’d point out that Ozzy sounds a little sniffly on that latest podcast, which they recorded during the Alberta road trip. Would explain why the team is kind of lagging now, if there’s still something lingering around the room

won’t let me post as a gif but someone mashed up Lou Lamoriello with Hofer
Sorting by pts%, the West has of the top 16, 1-2-3-12-13. The last place team in the East (Columbus) has 6 teams from the West below them.
Okay boys. Vancouver is a team we SHOULD beat- so let’s beat them! LGRW
I didn’t really have any expectations, but was hoping either Detroit or Montreal would host the next Winter Classic.
Utah is fine I guess, just not interesting to me.
I am, once again, asking for two points in regulation.

What is going on in New Jersey lmao
Not that I want the Sabres to get their shit together but an outdoor game at the Bills stadium would be slick.
I’d love a game at Ford Field but I’m not sure how practical that would be with it being an indoor stadium.
Those of you that play light the lamp: I’ve been in attendance for all 3 ASP goals at LCA and I just got tickets for tonight. I’ll wear his jersey to assure #4 for #44 (#5 technically since he scored in Calgary but 4for44 has a better ring to it).
Grabbed a Team USA jersey and planning on getting it customized but now it’s going to be a long wait to figure out if they give Larkin an A.
Went to the Griffins game last night. Most entertaining game I’ve been to this season, and the fourth free game I’ve been to. All of them free, as will the next one, thanks to their Winning Wednesday promotion. (First tickets were given to me by my sister.)

[Highlights](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4k94CusSTY)
**Commentary:**
Kind of a boring, or at least frustrating first period. Griffins controlled the play pretty much the entire period, and badly outshot Texas. As a result they play was almost all on the far end of the ice, where I couldn’t see things as well. No score.
There was a chance at one point, where the goalie was far out of his crease and puck just sat there open for a few seconds. There was a scramble, but somehow the puck *didn’t* go in. Would’ve loved to have had a better view on that, and they never showed a replay on the big screen. Also bummed it wasn’t in the highlight package.
Going into the second I think Cossa had only faced 4 shots, and sure enough one of them made its way by him some time in that period. I think that’s one in the column for *Goalie isn’t engaged because he hasn’t seen anything all night.* (Second goal was kind of the same. Shots were 33-10 at the time and the one he let in was a bit of a stinker.)
Second period, I believe when the score was 1-1, there was a Griffins goal that would’ve put them in the lead that was waved off for reasons that were not made super clear. It *appeared* that the refs *intended* to blow the play dead, due to believing the goalie had the puck covered or having lost sight of the puck. From where I was the puck was still clearly in play, and it should’ve been a good goal. I believe it was Brandsegg-Nygard who would’ve had the goal.
The first Becher wrap-around goal was a few minutes later.
**Watson.** This guy is fun to watch in GR, and definitely a shit stirrer. He’s usually at the far end of the bench talking shit to some guy on the other team. He had a fight with like 4:50 left in the third, where he was pounding on a guy pretty good, and trying to take on another guy before being dragged to the box.
… But I think his fight was left out of the highlights, because it was the result of a kind of questionable crosscheck that laid a guy out on the boards. One of the Stars teammates came in, but Watson took him on. He continued to talk shit to a Stars player (on their bench) from the box for probably a solid two minutes before finally drinking some water and chilling out.
**Eduards Tralmaks.** Dude was just named to the Latvian Olympic team, and just two days ago I saw his IG handle is the hilarious [edtrailmix](https://www.instagram.com/edtrailmix/?hl=en), so I was on the lookout for him last night. Late in the third he blocked a shot that clearly hurt — and you could hear it hit him *loudly*. He got off the ice as soon as he could hobble over, and sat crumpled over on the bench for a minute. I did see him go down the hallway, but less than a minute later he was back on the bench. Maybe just a case of walking it off for a second, or maybe the took a peak at something. I don’t know.
His next shift he was on the ice and set up the play on the second Becher goal. Hockey players are tough.
**Dominik Shine.** Good lord I love this guy. He’s the perfect type of hockey player that every team needs: Quick, talented, and mean. If he had more size and scoring touch he probably could’ve made it in the NHL as a power forward, but as-is he’ll probably go down as one of the greatest Griffins ever. He plays *hard* every shift. It’s no accident that he was called up for that stretch of games last year, as a 31-year-old rookie. Dude is all heart.
With a few minutes left in the game he delivered a HUGE hit on a guy right in front of the Griffins’ bench. Completely leveled the guy. But Shine dropped his stick and *immediately* went to the bench. On the bench he was holding his shoulder. I’m speculating, obviously, but I think he dislocated it on the hit. He sat there with a trainer attending to him for a minute, and then before you know it he stood up, totally fine, asking for his stick. Was out the very next shift, and was out for the end of the game while they defended against the extra man attack with the net empty. Hockey players *are fucking tough.*
give sherwood a tour of the facilities
Let’s see what we can do to bulk up that goal differential tonight, eh lads?
