[Sports Business Journal] The Reds are expected to opt out of their TV deal with Main Street Sports. Would most likely result in Reds games being produced by MLB in 2026.

  1. If we dont have to hear about updated betting odds 10x a game then great news.

  2. I love this yearly struggle to figure out where in the hell I can watch Reds games. 🙃

  3. So, as someone who watches from out of state (Indiana), how am I supposed to watch every televised broadcast?

  4. People complaining about FanDuel, but honestly it was super cheap and reliable. The broadcast could be annoying with the betting odds and stuff, but the rest was great.

  5. These constant changes to where games are aired have been a disaster. It’s seems to be different every year. Such a headache to just watch a game let alone expensive.

MLB needs to figure it out

  6. In dummy terms please: does this make them easier and cheaper to watch? Or harder and more expensive?

  7. So can this bullshit settle in time for the Reds to settle their TV money for the year?

Wish the Reds had wriggled out of this a few years ago like the Pirates did.

  8. I’m curious whether this impacts the budget this year or if this was already expected and accounted for. The Reds are a very revenue dependent organization and do not usually operate at a loss.

  9. I feel like this is the 5th year in a row we’ve heard this story. Maybe this time it’s true! 🤞

  10. This is no different than a FA signing single year deals at higher AAVs and betting on themself right???

Except the big long term deal isn’t coming. And if it is it would be MLB and those have yet to be as high of $ as RSN deals.

MLB needs to help teams navigate this and maybe supplement RSN $ or the parody between teams is only going to get worse.

  11. As guardians fan having the mlb produce last year was actually awesome , the production value was immensely better than with ballys , new camera angles drones etc
