Mets won’t have Amazin’ Day fanfest this offseason

  1. I really enjoyed it last year and was dealing with the end of cancer treatment at that time. It was a real highlight for me. I’m glad they did the kid’s holiday thing this year which was really well done.

It’s sad that people are so miserable. I’m sad and angry about Pete and Nimmo and Diaz too and if you can’t get over it to attend things, then just don’t go. You don’t need to send hate mail to co-owners, etc simply don’t go and the folks with coping strategies can.

My countdown is on for PSL without Amazin Day – 58 days.

  2. Sad and cowardly act by thin skinned owners upset the praise train derailed due to their failures at reaching their own stated goals.

  3. That’s a shame, for the kids.. those types of things a little kid never forgets

  4. Idk why anybody is surprised, things would get ugly fast.

And before people say that they can’t handle criticism I’d honestly be worried about worse than just boos happening. You’re telling me nobody would buy a ticket to throw something at Stearns? You’re out of touch if you say no.

  5. I think it’s more likely that they’re not doing it because last year’s event sucked and was poorly organized more so than to avoid fan backlash for not bringing Pete back. Absurd that you had no idea what panels were going on until you actually got into Citifield.

  6. It’s easy to be the public facing owners when things are going well. But it’s also why it’s probably better to take a more measured approach during those good times so there isn’t quite a stark contrast when they go into hiding during bad times.

  7. It’s not because they can’t handle the criticism. It’s because there’s some shitty fans out there who can’t handle sharing their criticism with basic human decency and civility

  8. there’s no reason this should be a yearly thing. it makes it more special if it is at least every other year.

Also, the overall fanbase is in such a bad way that it would be hard to make this a positive event.

I still look forward to this season, but Stearns better be right!

  9. **Im sure Nico Harrison would’ve shown and taken questions.**

**Oops sorry, I meant David Stearns**

  10. Absolutely weak move from the team. You can’t put yourself out there and beat your chest like Cohen has done when things are going right and then cower and hide away after a failure and after pissing off a majority of the fanbase with deeply unpopular moves. Stuff like this is exactly what leads to the fans turning their backs like they did in early 2024 and after the offseason we’ve had, that attendance has a chance to be even worse. I can’t imagine how ugly things will get for the front office and ownership if this season is a failure.

  11. lol this is some seriously weak shit.

Fan base is angry? Let’s deprive them further!

  12. I’m not surprised. This apparently was decided over the summer — when the Mets were still good — and probably has a lot to do with the parking lots being used as a construction zone for the soccer stadium.

  13. Feels like more fan punishment. I’m not saying it is – but it feels that way, and I’m surprised they don’t see how it could.
