This is GREAT news! They clearly will give the new hire every opportunity to retain Ulbrich, and it appears Ulbrich is willing to stay. He could easily ask for the freedom to explore other opportunities given the current state of transition.

Soon as I saw that in the summary of Blank’s statements he wants Ulbrich around, I knew he wasn’t going anywhere if we got our top pick, which seems to obviously be Kubiak. Although now I think you can pencil in McDaniel if that doesn’t happen/he interviews well, either way they’re two guys who are from the same tree as Ulbrich and McDaniel/Ulbrich obviously have already coached together before
