CB's been catching a lot of flak since his return to play only his 10th and 11th full games of the season. But I was listening to "How 'Bout Them Celtics" post-game commentary and one of the hosts had this to say about him:

You could see why [Christian Braun] is a starter on a championship team from the way he plays defense. I was watching him sprint around to catch up with rotations early in this game and I was so impressed. It completely ruined the advantage the Celtics had created by getting somebody out of place. What an impressive player, but that's just a quick tangent. Sad loss.

  1. I think i saw a star that the Celtics shot 2/14 when guarded by CB yesterday. Either way he played solid defense all game, even if it was obvious he’s still a little hampered or unsure of that ankle. Could see him not really exploding hard off that foot a few times. He’ll shake off the rust in a few games, especially being back home.

  2. We need that kind of defensive hustle. If he can become more consistent with that 3PT shot, he will be worth that contract.

  3. If people are giving our guy shit for being rusty after missing six weeks, they can fuck right off lol

  4. Nuggets are going to be so good when they get the band back together.

  5. A lot of the hate and comparison between him and Watson is heavily based in recency bias. Doomers are incredibly reactionary though and live and die by whatever the most recent result was. They don’t care how long anyone’s been out or want to consider any context.

  6. CB is great, the recent slander is unfair and based on people who just look at box score. He does need to get back into shooting form but he’s still our guy and we are lucky to have him

  7. I’m not worried about our cb at all. He just needs some time.

Braun is also a jokic merchant in a good way. His style just perfectly fits with Joker. Braun isn’t a shot creator. He’s a hustle guy that is a menace in transition. He needs a little help to shine.

  8. What makes this team so impressive compared to previous years is that we’ve got arguably 7 three and D style wings (if you count AG as like a super-powered three and D guy). That type of player is just so valuable in today’s NBA. Yet despite all roughly fitting that mold, they all have unique strengths that make the team incredible versatile.

Need a little extra D, put in Watson and/or Braun. Need a little more shooting, put in THJ. Need a little more ball handling, Cam Johnson. Versatile veteran presence, Brown. Etc, etc…

It’s looking like if they can get healthy all together this is the best Nuggets team of the current era, I’m so excited to see a playoff run where the non-Jokic minutes are palatable.

  9. CB still getting his legs back into shape. He gonna be ok. He still do championship winning things on the court by being in the right spot every time, playing solid defense, helping the helpers, rebounding and boxing out.
