All nine MLB teams cancel their contracts with FanDuel Sports Network

The nine Major League Baseball teams televised by FanDuel Sport Network have terminated their contracts with FanDuel SN and its struggling parent company, Main Street Sports Group, two people briefed on the contracts told The Athletic.
Termination of the deals does not preclude those teams — the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals and Tampa Bay Rays — from returning on renegotiated agreements. When Main Street was in bankruptcy from 2023-25 (and known at the time as Diamond Sports Group), deals were terminated but ultimately reworked.
“We remain in active dialogue with all of our team partners regarding potential revised terms for agreements going forward,” Main Street said in a statement Thursday.
By exiting their existing contracts, the MLB teams are attempting to safeguard themselves from the possibility Main Street files for bankruptcy, which would limit how clubs that hold contracts with Main Street could maneuver.
Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred told reporters Thursday in New York that the league is in position to take over the broadcasts of any teams if needed, and that the goal is to maximize revenue.
“Our focus, particularly given the point in the calendar, is to maximize the revenue that’s available to the clubs, whether that’s MLB Media or third party,” Manfred said, per the Associated Press. “The clubs have control over the timing. They can make a decision to move to MLB Media because of the contractual status now. I think that what’s happening right now clubs are evaluating their alternatives. Obviously, they’ve made significant payroll commitments already and they’re evaluating the alternatives to find the best revenue source for the year and the best outlet in terms of providing quality broadcasts to their fans.”
MLB declined additional comment.
Barry Jackson reported in the Miami Herald on Thursday that Main Street missed a payment to the Marlins. Main Street was known to have missed a payment to the Cardinals last month. A person briefed on FanDuel SN’s contracts confirmed that multiple MLB teams have not received scheduled payments.
Sports Business Journal reported that Fubo has emerged as a contender to buy Main Street. Main Street has been in talks with DAZN, but that deal seems a long shot, SBJ reported.
So disappointed that I already renewed my subscription in November.

🏴☠️ or radio only way for me. Screw fan duel
Looks like their rush to renew everyone’s contract without notification wasn’t such an innocent whoopsie after all.
Fox Sports Central, Fox Sports WI, Bally’s, Fan Duel and now another one???
Just put my boys on MLB and remove the blackout restrictions.
Wasn’t expecting much from the Brewers in terms of FA signings this offseason because of the TV rights issue. I think it’s been handcuffing them for the past few years.
One of the big problems with these RSNs is, other than the games themselves, the other programming on these channels is pretty weak. I never watch anything on Bally/FanDuel Sports WI other than the Brewers or Bucks. The other 20+ hours of programming between games is useless
Give the contract to Univision
Just start your own streaming service already Brewers.
Put all the fucking games on WVTV-18
“the goal is to maximize revenue”
As a fan, that gives me all kinds of warm fuzzies.
Fubo would be the next disaster. God I hope the Crew just lets MLB run it.

Son of a… I’m always hesitant to give Fanduel more money but I took advantage of a Black Friday deal that covers me through September for $78 instead of paying $19.99/month for Bucks and Brewers.
Now that $78 may not even cover me through the end of the Bucks season.
The fun irony of all this is that when Disney bought Fox, they got all the regional sports networks. The DOJ made them divest themselves of the RSNs which lead to the Bally/Fanduel debacle. ESPN/Disney now owns MLB.TV and will likely pick up the pieces of the RSNs if these teams take the MLB deal. Government logic: “No. You can’t buy these networks. You buy them when they go bankrupt like a true capitalist.”
back to fsn 🔥
If you live in the state the games should be available to watch on local TV. We have to pay for the stadiums we should get to watch the damn teams.
Really hoping Brewers and Bucks (and all the other RSN castoffs) end up in affordable places for the fans.
Hopefully MLB terminates its sponsorship and deals with all these evil, predatory gambling companies.
Brewers had a fantastic TV crew on FanDuel. I hope to see them again.
