For the first time in more than 20 years, the Blue Jays will play on Sunday Night Baseball (Sept. 6 vs. Royals)

  1. Important to note that the game will almost certainly still be on Sportsnet, as it was supposed to be in 2018 when ESPN selected the Jays for SNB before being forced to change games, as well as when Peacock had Sunday Leadoff before it went to Roku.

  2. β€œHoly shit an entire country tuned in to watch this maybe we should start putting their games on here.”

  3. It’s not even on the main NBC network. It’s on their OTT service Peacock which is a bummer but it’s better than nothing.

  4. Fuck. Gotta get my radio dialed in for this one. The jays broadcast is too damn good. I HATE watching a jays game without it

  5. Lol maybe I am out of the loop, but is “Sunday night baseball” a big deal? lol. Maybe its because I am a Toronto fan but I have never even heard of “Sunday night baseball”.

  6. It’s cool and all that we are getting on SNB, but the disrespect is still there – a top 5 team in all of baseball and we don’t get a Sunday night game until SEPTEMBER?! That’s insane.

  7. This is going to adversely affect the Sunday afternoon nap I had planned for that day.

  8. Kinda funny that the Jays will play on a “Star Spangled Sunday” when they are in Seattle.

  9. No thanks. I’d much rather a 1:07 p.m. start on Sundays…now someone please take me back to the nursing home.

  10. It also do with the fact that SNB is now produced by NBC instead of ESPN. Since ESPN has an ownership stake in TSN, there were contractual issues with showing the Blue Jays on SNB because of Sportsnet’s rights. For NBC, they do not need to be concerned about this complication.

  11. Would Peacock pull an Apple TV and Tell sportsnet not to air the game. Peacock streaming is not available in Canada–this game will not be aired on main NBC affiliates.

  12. TBH, I’m selfishly annoyed by this. I love my lazy Sunday afternoon Blue Jays baseball.

  13. Wow getting one of those must-see match ups against another team they obviously never want to feature against the start of the nfl season and first week of fall tv. Glad the jays are finally getting some respect

  14. I thought they would but figured it would be against the Yankees, or dodgers (maybe Boston or even Seattle due to playoff history)

    Not Kansas lol

  15. Which is actually something I DO NOT want. I like my early Sunday games and also ‘eff you NBC’.

  16. Look at the other end of the schedule, the Jays have four early leadoff games, two of them at home. Adjust your mornings accordingly.Β

  17. Hopefully this SNB game will be one of consequence with the Jays playing to clinch a postseason spot.

  18. Broadcast aside, I’m not liking playing the Royals this late in the season. We had real problems with them, lost both series, including that blowout in late-Sept where the Royals scored 20 runs. This is of course assuming we are in a playoff race by said Sept date.

(Of course we we’ll be leading the division by then. πŸ’ͺ)

  19. LET’S GO BLUE JAYS πŸ‘πŸ» πŸ‘πŸ» πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

  20. I don’t really care if the third world shithole country watches my favourite baseball team or not
