  1. Good move to send him to the g league honestly. Not only he’ll be able to gain experience, but it’ll also boost his confidence. Much better than staying on the bench and playing just a few minutes per game.

  2. He need reps and confidence. And for his level of talent and athleticism he will get even better as long as he keeps pounding the rock.

And all indications are that he can and will.

  3. I’m so glad the staff was quick on the uptake and didn’t keep him on the main team. Despite how talented Carter is it was obvious he needed the reps, and with the squad looking like title contenders, he wasn’t getting the minutes he needed to properly develop.

I’m sure he’ll be part of the rotation in year 2

  4. Get in your reps kid! You just can’t stimulate game speed in practice glad he’s killing it

  5. good debut, clear he’s got work to do but man the flashes are exciting on both sides of the ball. Will be following Austin closely here on out lol enjoyed what I saw tonight, Harrison Ingram is a G League all star

  6. Dude is just crazy athletic. Big time project, but if he figures it out man o man will he be special.

  7. yup he still needs more playing time… anywhere. he is still second guessing himself. someone send him the memo that rookies nowadays are different. please tell him to own it and show it like he worked hard for it.

  8. It’s timing. He needs reps on his timing. He has a ton of athleticism but he doesn’t know the times to use it. He needs reps putting it all together. When he does it’s clear he will be an incredible asset since he can affect the game in so many ways. I’m excited to see him get so many minutes because it’s tough being a rookie and attempting to figure out where there hasn’t been a single game this season he’s played longer than 12 mins.

  9. To me these highlights look like he is miles ahead as an athlete but his basketball skills—shot creation, handle—are weak. That’s probably why he’s there.

For those who watched the game, is that what you gathered?

  10. Just leave CB in G League. We need him to get as much experience as he can. We bring him up once in a while but majority of the time, he should be playing in G League.

  11. Give him a little time, and in a couple years he’ll be talked about as top 10 in this class. I believe in him so much

  12. So happy to see that he made a dunk. Kid was too nervous. He gain his confidence back and help the Spurs in the playoff run.

  13. Wonder if he’d rather be making $ and starting for Arizona this season instead of riding the pine in the NBA or settling for GLeague minutes.

  14. Finally. I’ve been saying all year they needed to either give him serious minutes or send him to the G League so he could get his feet wet and properly build his confidence.

The guy is clearly a great athlete and his frame and instincts have a lot of potential, but none of matters if he never gets the opportunity to develop.
