[March 10, 2009] Throwback to one of the greatest upsets in World Baseball Classic history. Team Kingdom of the Netherlands defeating and eliminating the Dominican Republic in the 2009 WBC tournament via walk-off winning by a score of 2-1 in 11 innings.

9. I remember watching that game with my family, we all collectively lost our shit when the DR lost…what an embarrassment at the time.

15. I remember watching this game live, and if my memory serves me right, the Dominican Republic’s run was largely due to an error. Then, I think the same player who made the error was the one who hit the RBI single to tie the game. I really liked that because he had the chance to redeem himself—it was all very romantic, haha

16. I was waiter in a restuarant close to that ballpark in Puerto Rico and the Cuban Team when to eat at the restaurant and they were like 6 officers from the Cubans at each corner watching then eat and vigilant.
