3. IMO mitch needs to start and KAT needs to come off the bench when brunson is subbed for kolek which is sad for someone getting paid over 50 mil and will prob hurt his ego but brunson is the cap and took a paycut for the org he deserves to start and brunson/KAT CAN NOT be on the court together!

   So then i may remind who won title in 1995 when they have just 45 wins and was even down 1-3 twice in playoffs .

9. I think we need to trade KAT. I think the rest of the team is kinda having problems with eachother spawning from him. He is the only one not fully buying into the system. I also think we need to look back to last year and remember how we never beat the top teams in the league and in the playoffs we did and made it to the ECF. Definitely a concerning time for us Knicks fans but I wouldn’t call anything about the playoffs right now.

11. The problem is Towns lack of defensive aptitude. You add two guards at 6'1 in Brunson and McBride who are defensive liabilities, not for the lack of trying, you end up exhausting your two defensive players in Bridges and OG. You saw yesterday when Robinson was in the lineup how the game changed and the Knicks were able to mount a run. This team needs size when Towns is the center because he does not play defense. You can maybe run a small guard tandem if you have a double big lineup and some tall wings that can play defense otherwise, you will se what you see. Athletic wings shooting over Brunson on switches and or taking him off the dribble and there is no one there to block the shot or prevent the run to the basket with Towns as center. This is a structural issue with this lineup. Too many small guards, no wings, and the size is either sitting on the bench or being played in spot minutes. The problem is glaring, it was there when Thibs coached the team, it was his formulation of having a lot of guards and now you have a team that athletically is unable to match teams with bigger wings.

14. Hated the trade for Kat. Wish we could of seen the players from the '24 team with a different coach, maybe Brown, but not a huge fan of his either but at least he keeps playing the bench. They miss Dante DiVinchenzo, been sadly disappointed by Bridges, and Kat is the most frustrating player I have ever seen.

15. This team does have an identity. Since last year this Knicks team is a Soft, inconsistent on offense and consistently bad defenders. This has been an issue that started last year when a slow Bridges was asked to be the quick defensive SG that Donte was. Kat was asked to defend the middle like Hartenstein would. We lost defense for offense. We built this team solely to battle the Celtics. 2 years ago we only had to hide Brunson on defense. Hiding Brunson and Kat on defense has been an issue since last year. The only way this team wins against good teams is if Kat and Brunson are hitting shots consistently. Sometimes that isnt enough. This defense isnt getting better. Especially when we continue to have our bigs drop back and our coach refuses to have these players switch on defense in fear that Brunson and Kat will pick up silly fouls. Leon Rose has been great but this summer he only got us 2 offensive players for the bench. One of them has been terrible. This team needs more 2 way players to surround Brunson. OG and Bridges are great defenders but recently even they look bad. Everyone keeps waiting for Hart to be the savior. He can help but when he was healthy this team was still horrible on defense. Besides Brunson and maybe Clarkson, we dont have players that can create their own shots consistently without creating offensive fouls.

18. We don't have a KAT problem. We have a coaching problem. We literally have 11 coaches on our staff. Yet we can't figure out how to use KAT offensively. Mike Brown and the rest of the coaching staff need to figure it out.

21. I say go for it. KAT doesn’t seem happy, Bridges seems totally disinterested. if Milwaukee also wants OG or Bridges to go along with KAT to grab Giannis, just do it. We may have to take Portis and another piece back to make the money work. I don’t even care anymore. I’m a 62 year old, die hard Knick fan, who last saw them win a chip in 73 when I was 10 years old. This team, as currently constructed isn’t winning anything. Giannis solves our low post defense, paint defense and rim protection issues immediately.

28. Without Hart they can't seem to find ways to pull things out when things are close. Need Hart to make those hustle plays he comes up with l.

29. Well, it's up to Leon Rose to "Fix" the NY Knicks roster by the trade deadline. If not, the NY Knicks can easily get "knockout" in the NBA playoffs or worse the NBA Play-In. Rose could lose his job this year.

32. We desperately need to replace the current defensive coordinator on staff with someone who can teach the Knicks how to play better defense! With so many great individual defenders (Shamet, McBride, Robinson, OG, and even McCullar Jr lately), we really should be able to play elite defense as a team. And maybe Coach Brown needs to start being harder on the players. This is a coaching issue, not a roster issue. KAT is the only one whose lack of defense may not be correctable.

37. As a team we are soft. Other teams learned we aren't comfortable when they play us physically. We don't pass enough and start playing hero ball.

42. Marsh I agree with all your takes. Please don't forget to address Jalen's poor defense. It's has been terrible this year. I'm consistently screaming at the TV.

    Jalen, Kat, Mikal and yes even Deuce and OG have to be better defensively.

    JB needs to get Kat going with rhe pick and roll. The fact that them two don't run that atleasr 12 times a game is TERRIBLE.
    Mikal not being assertive kills the team. He's an unselfish player, but his lack if aggressiveness hurts the team. Keep up the great content.

47. I never liked the KAT Trade from the Gecko. They lost size & toughness in Randle & Dante. All you had to do Mr Leon was to get yourself a Real Good Center w all the Damn Picks we had instead of Pissing it away on another player that’s not even worth it!! This team ain’t going nowhere!!

48. When I watch KAT play all I can think is how much I would hate him if he weren’t on the Knicks. He complains about calls the ENTIRE game and then proceeds to commit dumb fouls himself. I honestly believe this team would be better with Randle and Divencenzo
