  1. Let him cook is all I’ll say. I think he’s at his best when he’s racking up all types of counting stats and I see no reason why he shouldn’t feature way more heavily in the offense. Even if he messes up having him learn as an offensive initiator will pay off huge down the line.

  2. *sigh*

I expect to get hammered for this bit but I really think that we are actually doing a really good job with Matas and would argue that his current level of play is much more likely to be due to how we have been developing him rather than in spite of it.

It’s his just his second year, he will have ups and downs exactly as has unfolded thus far, he started off well enough with responsibility, fell into a slump through which he was managed (in my opinion entirely appropriately) and he has come out the other side as a better rounded player which is now showing with his responsibility being increased again and his play not just being notable for his production but also his reduction in the kind of errors that he was making previously.

This cycle of ups and downs will continue over the next couple of years as he settles in and gets consistency in his game, this happens for everyone and I think Matas is tracking really well to be a guy who puts up these numbers and better consistently.

I also note that over this period he has been listed at, and indeed to my eye playing as, SG on offence for a good portion of the time in Coby’s absence/restriction while switching with Okoro on D.

I’ve really liked the look of that combo for us and hope we see more of it going forward even if Coby does get healthy because it could be a real point of difference weapon for us going forward because not too many guys at 6’10” have Matas’ offensive skillset which really is compatible with being a giant SG.

  3. His APG and REB have almost doubled since Giddey went down. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

  4. Finally! Because trash ass ball hogs Giddey and White have been out. Their talents don’t warrant their usage rates, I trust Ayo and Tre Jones initiating offense more than those ball hogs. Matas needs to stop being so nice and get buckets. Billy needs to start closing every game with Matas, reliable 3 pt shooter and the best shot blocker on the team.

  5. cool.

now trade his ass. gut the entire house from top to bottom.

bulls had less than a 2% chance of getting the pick that led to drose.

this organization would have been irrelevant since MJ left if that didn’t happen.

this management is beyond pathetic, its embarassing
