  1. The positive and optimistic point of it is that David Blough is already in the building drawing up the playbook. He’s been working close with JD5 and probably already going over concepts. The unknown is very uncomfortable but I’m optimistic!

  2. John, this has the potential to be a disaster. Usually when a young coordinator is promoted, it's for an offensive minded head coach, DQ is a defensive coach, so Blough will have much more responsibility than McVay or O'Connell ever did. I expect Blough to try to "make everyone happy" and he deferential because of his inexperience which could lead to disaster and stunting of Jayden's development.

  3. Yeah—well in previous years we let Matt Lafleur, McVey, O’Connell, and others leave and become very successful head coaches. Probably a good move. Maybe McDaniel can become another assistant head coach on the staff. Who know? Good Kobe. Speaks the same language as Daniels is used to hearing and I’m sure Daniels endorsed it. Guaranteed they asked his opinion.

  4. Understand….a 2yo toddler has as much experience as Blough.

Marie Antoinette has as much experience as Blough

Petrified dinosaur dung has as much experience as Blough

You may not like those facts … remember facts don't care about your feelings

  5. Same ppl complaining are same ppl posting all the young guys we let go over yesrs . Think its a BALLSY move & its easy to look back last 35 yrs & see that the older proven names dont mean it will work. Think Blough is an epic Hire!

  6. & I don’t think DQ wanted McDaniel. One good year & he would’ve been gone. Dan is banking on building from here. Having Jayden with the same OC for next 5 years.

  7. Washington nailed the hire. He definitely will add wrinkles to what he's already learned.. Keeps continuity amongst the staff and players with in-house hire. I say A+ HTTC

  8. Thinking this was too quick a move. Was anyone else even interviewed ?!? Got to be more qualified available OC s? Oh well. It's done now. DQ is officially on the hot seat. Another year like 2025 and he's outta here.

  9. Everybody wanted McDaniel, I did too. But this makes perfect sense. If McDaniel came here and did well, he def would be a head coach in a year or two. Keeping the continuity within the staff is good, our new OC is someone that has an already great relationship with JD, that’s a huge plus. DB seems to be the next wave of offensive geniuses, he had a lot of interest from outside the building so we def couldn’t afford to lose him. DB could possibly become the head coach here in DC in the next few years if DQ leaves or is promoted. It’s an overall good move, risky, but def a risk worth taking. HAIL ❤️💛

  10. If anybody knows what a coaching prodigy looks like, it’s DQ. It’s also this organization (all be it new people). Our offense didn’t really struggle outside of the injuries. So with Lynn and Johnson backing him up, it shouldn’t be a huge maturation process. Btw, there’s like 8 open HC spots this year. We’ll get a DC after the smoke settles. Thats the spot we need to hit on!

  11. If the choice was made from Logic , then I respect it , but if it was made out of fear , then I don’t. Was is blough mind , or was it the fact you just didn’t want to look stupid watching Detroit shine , if I owned a team I would just inquire about all of their coaches just to force hires like this 😩🤣😂 but I was ready from a change from Kliff , so LFG 🤷🏽‍♂️ this is nothing new for our team !

  12. Thanks John. I have no problem with this because the system is in place. Prioritize more commitment to the running game. Focus on a younger team and plz make the Defense a top priority. I’m ready for a return to a nasty defense.

  13. My daughter went to high school with David, watching him play football was almost comical, he was so clearly in a different league than anybody else on the field. He was a good kid and had always been a class act even as a teenager. Somebody on the opposing team got hurt? He was the first one to take a knee.

  14. We have let so many next big things walk right out the door. Shannahan, McVay, even McDaniels spent time with us developing into mostly great HCs. Lets guve him a shot before we end up letting another one walk put the door.

  15. I don't agree that we need another TE or RB. Sinnott has not been used enough. They have strictly stuck with Ertz this year, because they were lacking receivers given the injury. They need to use their draft picks enough so they can fully develop. The same is true of McCaffrey and Lane. As for the running backs, the principal reson the run game wasn't outstanding was because the O-Line didn't fully develop as quickly as I had hoped. In 2026, it will be much better as they learn to play together and Conerly and others fully develop. You will see Bill catch more and all the backs will rush even better than this season. When you have young players you need to use them to have them get better.

  16. john kiem your an OG but talking about I don’t know what’s going to happen…give your honest opinion about it and stop playing the lines…I get it from someone who works in sports too but cmon man speak what you think…..
