Behind a paywall, I think, but I can link in the next post.

  1. Will Watson over Santucci is certainly a choice. And I would put Sproat higher. He was pretty good in the bigs and even though he doesn’t have the upside of the guys ahead of him (probably), I think he’s going to be a decent mid rotation starter, and there’s a ton of value in that.

  2. Our farm system is loaded and especially at the upper minor levels. They are literally banging the doors at the major league level. Lets hope a few of them get to a rocket start and force their way onto an MLB roster spot.

Reports have other GMs saying Stearns is really stingy on trading prospects. I hope he can hold off this offseason to see what we got for 9 – 12 of these kids (includes Dylan Ross)

    McLean – MLB

    Benge – AAA or MLB

    Tong – AAA

    Ewing – AA or AAA

    Williams – AAA

    Reimer – AA

    Sproat – AAA

    Clifford – AAA

    Watson – AA

    Voit – A

  3. We develop the players so well and have a great farm system but don’t give the position players any playing time, or inconstant playing time. Baty should have played everyday last year. Mauricio sat on the bench for a long time. Acuna is a backup only, he could be much better we will never know. The pitchers they at least use as much as they can. Don’t really want to see Jett or Benge come up and just be backups. I want them to play everyday and see what they can do.

  4. Honestly, there are a bunch of others not listed who could easily jump on this year depending on who graduates.

This is why this year is perfect to do nothing stupid trade wise.

Pena, Suero, Wenniger, Gordon, Lambert, Clifford, Girton, Gomez, etc…

  5. I worry about the outfield sometimes but then I remind myself that the pieces we need are just a year or so away. Benge (LF), Ewing (L, CF) and Williams (R, CF) would look mighty nice next to Soto.

  6. Ewing is really rising up those ranks. I like to see it. He’d a 4th round pick so that’s awesome. I will say I see Jett dropping across most prospect rankings. I hope he shows he can handle the bigs. LGM
