This was posted before the game today but it details a lot of interesting things Bryce had in mind regarding the Devils and their current situation.

Good read. Even after today’s game. Unfortunately I think the fans that need to read this most probably won’t care to lol. He made some really good points about Winnipeg being in a similar spot too which I didn’t realize. Team is in a free fall right now is right, and it’s gonna be hard to slow it down yet alone stop it. Hopefully the team can drown out some noise tomorrow and piece something positive together. Either way thanks for posting. Didn’t know Bryce had a blog site and looking forward to following it for the future
Excellent article that all should read. Covers many critiques the fans on here have mentioned, also refreshing for those that gripe about Bryce’s persistent optimism on the broadcast. Well written and spoken like a Captain.
Love the optimism. I strongly feel they can still land a playoff spot, but I also feel they aren’t any closer to fixing what is wrong

Great read. I can’t imagine the frustration in the organization right now, from management down, yes we’re all critical of players and management but they all want the team to win and succeed as much as we do as fans. It’s just not working. And yes I can’t imagine the navigating social media, it frustrates me and I’m only a fan. I’m sure they avoid it but you can only avoid so much.
I guess people might complain hes on the payroll or whatever, but what he said about Dougie is spot on. If it were that bad he wouldnt have said anything. You gotta do better than 3 points in 25 games if you want to have 9mil its just the facts.
It’s sad that retired players like Bryce and Dano have more passion for this team than the players who are currently being paid millions of dollars to play for us.
They were never properly coached and have a losing mentality.
Wish Scott Stevens and Niedermayer were still invested in the franchise like this.
Oh man I didn’t know he had a blog. subscribed!
Some excellent, level-headed insight. Doesn’t excuse the situation but accounts for how much pressure and bullshit has come their way this year. And the East is super competitive this year with a lot of swings in teams’ play; they’re still only six points back from the WC spots. My favorite quote:
>One thing I will say, I know the organization has to be extremely careful and strategic with any decision(s) they may make, on or off the ice, because the entire NHL world is watching this team with a microscope at the moment.
A reasonable way to understand why the org isn’t scorching the earth and cleaning house like they’re being asked to by fans/writers en masse. Look at how much buzz was generated from the Hamilton benching, the Hughes trade, etc.
EVERYONE is watching what happens with a team that so confidently felt it belonged in the upper echelon with contenders like DAL/COL/CAR as they spiral and can’t find any footing or ground to stand on. But even in this article, Salvador is right: they need to keep playing and put good performances together, win or lose. They need to build up their confidence instead of sulking around after shit doesn’t break their way.
Great article. Bryce has turned into a must listen. We know we are getting honesty. I don’t want to sound corny by any means, but I hope the devils fans give Luke a warm reception Wednesday night even if tomorrow is a horror show. As fans, we are all in this together. I don’t know if the players care what we think, but this has to affect Luke. Let’s be family and support him and the team Wednesday after we get into the arena. I know this does sound cringy, but as David Puddy would say”got to support the team”. DEVILS……DEVILS ….
