  2. Tear it down. Sad to see this happening, but this is over: Boeser, Myers, Petey, Hronek, Sherwood, Kane, Garland, Foote, and Demko — time to say goodbye.

  5. This is the best case scenario and it's over ten years late. Trevor Linden was correct in wanting a rebuild when he was President of hockey ops. Francesco needs to sit down and shut up and let this happen, none of this "hybrid" bullshit, just a good old fashioned tear it down REBUILD.

  6. And there are fans who think this is a bad thing. You have to be awful to get good. That's why the Canucks don't have a 1st overall pick ever. Even in the 80s, they were bad, but because there were so few teams, they were never bad enough and sometimes they even made the playoffs. Unless you're in a Patrik Stefan year, usually if you get a 1st overall pick, you're practically guaranteed a top 6 forward or top 4 defenceman. But the Canucks have never allowed themselves to be that bad. Even in the late 90s, when there was talk of moving the team to Seattle. That's why when fans say things are worse now than they've ever been, I laugh. Is anyone talking about moving the team? No. They're financially stable. So this isn't the worst season ever. If anything, if the Canucks get out of this with a Top 5 draft pick and get a really good player (I hope it's a Swede just for the meltdown), then I'd call this season a success. Stepping stones. I'd rather suck for a few years, collect elite prospects and work our way up than pretend we're better than we are. That's why I hate blaming the coach. Foote is doing a great job, especially with the young guys. He's turned guys who I wasn't sure about into NHL players. Karlsson just earned a 3 year deal and looks like at minimum a 3rd line centre in the future. Now we just need some top 6 prospects. And we can't get those without top 5 draft picks typically. Make the scouts' jobs easier.

  8. Who cares dude. We may as well properly tank and get a future franchise star in McKenna or Stenberg instead of foolishly trying to force a playoff spot and drafting 15th overall again. Trade Sherwood, Kane, Forbort, Kämpf and Blueger. Keep everybody else.

  9. Anyone who thinks this team is rebuilding just because their dead last, is a complete moron. There is NO rebuild till guys like Pettersson are on the team. Chicago got rid of EVERYONE when they started their rebuild in 2022, that’s how a REAL rebuild is done. So basically till #40 is on the roster, there is no rebuild happening.

  11. The team has one 2C and the rest of the centers are fourth liners. Then there are the seven players that are rookies on the roster-all with less than one full season of games in the NHL. This team is being managed to do what it is doing.

  21. Miller and Hughes were their best players so what would u expect of course they can't score. same thing will happen to cow town when Anderson and Coleman leave. ( Calgary will be a last place team for the next 3-5 years)

  25. Owners still haven't got a training facility, another rink that's only for there use. Only team in league without a private training facility and ice rink. That's always been the problem. Our owners are the problem. No private training facility. No cup. Owners are rich lovers and they're okay with that.
