It's ok I am happy he is not worth 175 Redsox are
going to be okay stay positive, but on the other hand
when will Redsox fans "WAKE UP" OWNERS are
so disconnected with fans, so you fans are suckers
and keep paiding for high tickets prices…LOL
There going down hill and ending up in last place again
No one gives a fuck dude. They were not paying pregnant for five years. It wasn’t gonna happen… Chicago overpaid fuck him.. I’d rather get Bo
And they did not lose Alex Bregman he fuckin’ CHOSE to LEAVE
Bregman isn't worth 35 million this year and his value is only going down each year no thanks
Good job Breslow and the front office not worth it very smart not listening to these idiots
Don't go after Bo no defense no thanks
I wanted Bregman but no where near that much
Another cry baby! A guy signs a three year contract with an opt out after a friggin year? WTF did you think was going to happen? How committed was he dude? With his downtime last year he frankly wasn’t worth the money. Just because the Sox have the money it’s no reason to piss it away. This wasn’t the Sox fault. It was Bergman’s CHOICE!!
You can tell they didn't want to sign him. They are dysfunctional. Wait till you see what they offered him. They dragged this out so they could show Cora they really tried.
This was a bullet dodged for the Sox. But I have been ringing this bell for 3 years now and people are finally starting to realize what is going on. This franchise doesn't care about winning they only care about selling tickets and NESN subscriptions. But he wasn't worth that. Good for him he got paid. But he will start slow like he usually does and not produce over there. The real problem was trading Devers. He was the heart of the team and single handedly beat the Yankees year after year. THAT is the real tragedy here. Bregman has two good years left then he is a glorified second baseman. Devers had many years left of productive baseball. Now they have no power and there isnt any left but Tucker and even he has question marks. Devers is the loss that will put this franchise on its ass for a decade. That is the price of trading franchise players.
It’s Devers fault he’s not a team player for not playing every position remember
Im new to really following the Red Sox… MLB period due to betting over the last 3 years before then I knew 2 players on the team since they turned to shit after the Mookie trade but I really got excited for this group last year & this is such a let down I’m sure it was probably $140 for 5 before the opt out he would have gotten $80M over the next 2 anyway, if they pivot to Bo & actually give him the 7-8 years we’ll see but given his defensive shortcomings and continued penny pinching I doubt it gets done.. If they wanted to save $ why couldn’t they have just signed Luis Arraez for 1st & give the saved money to Alex before the Willson trade.. I know he doesn’t get many home runs but he’s a high contact hitter in the 100th percentile of the league maybe he would be redundant with having Yoshi on the team ≠ defense or home runs but that’s another topic makes u really think also on the Juan Soto situation.. if there so against long contracts & such cheap fucks lately then I don’t believe they were really even interested in signing him cuz this current stance would contradict both of those points. I was sure we were getting Vlad this offseason too & he would have probably commanded more then he got given Torontos WS run so that wouldn’t have happened just like Skubal next year WONT happen 🤡
Bichette is meeting with the Phillies and Dave Dombrowski. Fans actually think the Red Sox are outspending them 😂😂😂
Ya wee a 4th place team now cuz we know damn well we're not getting Bichette
I don't think it's that big of a deal, i say let the kids play then find and fix what we need by/at trade deadline
Not upset and not surprised. I felt pretty sure the "Aggressive Offer" was only on the table because Breslow knew it wouldn't get the deal done. 5 years, 175 is too much for Bregman. Bad contract. His value to Boston would never have been as great as it was last year.
I will be extremely upset if Duran and Crawford and either Tolle or Early and either Casas or Masa aren't traded. Get Hoerner or Donovan or McLean. Get Steele or Jared Jones or McKenzie Gore. If Breslow swings a deal for a 2nd baseman and a Front Line starter the Red Sox will have had a tremendous off season and optimism will be very high.
100 percent on all points. You have to be fiscally irresponsible sometimes to compete. Our fan base deserves so much better. You’re lucky you’re young. For us old fans who have suffered so much more, this is insulting! Hold these cowards accountable!
Alex Briggs is not a loss he missed most of the season for us and when he came back he was he was good at defense. He didn't show up in the playoffs. Why would we give a 6-year contract to a man on the back end of his career I'm like zero sense these big contracts have burnt us thank God we got out of the Raphael devers not saying he's a bad player but he was somebody that thought he was bigger than a game. We have too much young talent and we really need to find out I can think of three two out of the third basements we could pick up
** the Red Sox
Who is the best shop to be a Red Sox?
Fuck Alex. He wasn't that good. A huge NO on Bo as well, Bo has the worst fielding in almost all of mlb
Stop crying, the Cubs overpayed and he won't be worth that contract. Just throwing money to throw money is stupid. Unsubscribe.
Can't say I am surprised, given how this offseason has gone. It will be a long 2026.
I said it earlier this winter break that they weren't gonna spend any money on upgrading. If they're not gonna spend any money making the games better to watch. Then why should spend $500+ a game to go to Fenway Park
I'm just really let down. it seems they don't care. We've literally downgraded to a worse team now.
Jace, let's see if they pivot to Bo not happening. This team is going to be fighting Tampa Bay for last place.
I don't like the look of losing out on Bregman because the Red Sox ARE cheap, but….Bregman is in the downside of his career and there's no way he's worth that contract. He's a 20-something HR guy who will end up blocking another, better, younger player from taking over third base and wanted a no-trade clause. But since the Sox haven't done anything else (yet?), they sort of deserve the anger they will be getting here. Good thing this didn't happen BEFORE fanfest.
Time to go all in on Bo Bichette. See if he wants to play 2nd or 3rd. Mayer and Campbell need space to play anyway. 5yrs at 35 per is a lot for an old guy who hit 18 homers last year. If it had been last year, i would have been okay with just plugging Mayer and Campbell into the lineup. This year? I want to compete even better so signing Bichette or finding another more reliable bat is important.
The Red Sox paid Bregman $36M to replace Devers ($29M), while hitting half as many HR's as Devers (18 < 35) and nearly 50 RBI less than Devers, in abt 150 less PA's.
Im new to you guys. But interested. Great show… go cubs.
first, bregman isn't worth your effort. last year's strife can be attributed to two people…cora and bregman and maybe a little bit of bresbot. Second, and this is what I think is happening. There will be a lockout at the end of this season. JH and the fsg will be the mob leaders. they're just starting NOW instead of at the close of the world series. They do not care what you or i think. they have the city by the balls now and they could run a losing team out every season and make millions in realized profit doing it. Fenway is the jewel of the ownership and the surrounding area. they don't care about the team as much.
Haha…who didn't see this coming?? You give a guy an out after 1 year, he will take it. They were led around by Bregman and Boras since day 1…Alonso and Schwarber came off the board quick and they got bogged down. Great …typical John Henry.
I called this when Devers was traded. Now we don’t have Devers and Bregman and have nothing to show forth.
I am very upset
I am not inclined to pay for NESN again. What for
I think Mayor will be his equal in 2026. The terrible offseason move was Contreras (.250/18HR's).
If they don’t want to win, then I don’t want to watch. Fahk them.
So glad this is behind us. I'm optimistic about the trades and recovering players; Sandoval, Mayer, Campbell. Arbitration reups: Romy, Oviedo, Casas. I only wish we had retained Rob Refsnyder. Wish him the best with Mariners. Now, It's all about staying healthy.
How's this headline. "Team with no free agent signings reaches playoffs." Remember the '98 Padres, '03 Marlins, '14 an '15 Royals. Very few free agents and close to the bottom payrolls.
cry baby
Cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap #SelltheTeam cheap ass Henry GTFO of boston
If you are surprised by Bergman’s departure then you don’t know Boston.
The instant he opted out Boston fell out of contention.
Boston is to cheap to compete.
Everyone is overreacting. This isn’t as big of a deal as some people want to pretend it is.
A bit of an overreaction imo. The straw that broke the camels back should have been us not signing Alonso. Overpaying Bregman ain’t it
