We know exactly what Tobias and Caris provide and I’d argue both are not providing the value of their contract. I’d move either of them well before seriously entertaining moving any of the youth crew.
Ppl don't come for me in the comments but I'm ok with trading ausar only if it's for Trey Murphy tho
I'm more concerned when we play bad teams. I sau we drop the games to Pacers and Celtics
I'll do the first trade that you mentioned if Sadiq Bey is added.
2 topics….1st I’m good with the Pistons making a smaller trade. One that can bring a wing and shooting such as Shaedon Sharpe, Bilal Coulibaly, or Aaron Nesmith. None of the other big stars mentioned will move the needle for me. Finally….YES Ausar needs to learn how to shoot! Stew defense has always been on point, but when he added that spot up 3 it helps the team. Draymond (who I despise) is great on defense but teams lay off him when he shoots, but it creates a problem when he’s making them. I’m a fan but I cannot understand how NBA players have a career with 0 ability to shoot. If I was their height and ability I wld try to upgrade my bag every year like Kobe.
Jaden Ivy is not a, throw in player, regardless of what some people may think….He was playing very well before his injury, and it would be wise to keep him and let him come in next year to see if he can get back to form before trading him, or to get proper compensation…..And Asar's role is to the able to hit a mid range jump shot, and to drive to the basket, without falling down consistently Yes, he's a great defensive player….but, we need more from him on the offensive end….. It's okay to say that…. And it's on him to provide that…..
I'll only trade Ivey for Michael Porter Jr.
If you saying they don't even know how to figure out a role for him offensively that's a pretty terrible. His defense is up and down sometimes spectacular sometimes baited fouls get beat a lot he's not that great that you want him to be. JB has benched him several times because he didn't trust him
Hi Ku, love your podcast, keep it up! I'm not finished watching this episode yet, so I don't know what you're about to say about "every Piston has a role," but I certainly think AT's shouldn't include trying to be a primary ball handler, or anything adjacent to it. His handles aren't good, he's turnover prone, not a proficient passer, nor is his very good around the rim (not including dunks). Ultimately, I think his offensive game is quite raw and frequently a liability. Take Robinson for example, he's primarily a 3-point shooter, but if he drives or slashes to the rim, he's usually very good at finishing, even in traffic. I just feel like AT leaves anywhere from 6 – 8 points on the table (when you also factor his poor FT%) on a regular basis. Points that could swing the outcome of several games.
If Ausar started on the ball just saying the colts don't trust him how many times has he got to boil and get Frozen don't know what to do or just fall with it how can you label him as I can't miss guy with that many flaws.
When nobody has the guard him he's basically a defensive player against us his man will always double Cabe.
JJJ for Duren + Caris + Bobi + Isaac is enough cap space. How many firsts do we need to add to the deal?
We would have a roster spot for Daniss, and we could add another player from the buyout market or with the TPE.
The Grizzlies would prefer Ivey. We would need to add fewer picks to the deal. Depending upon how many fewer picks, We might be stuck keeping the Caris contract for another year.
Thompson is a liability on offense and that's saying a lot in my opinion Ron Holland has more upside than Ausar. But I do think he's improving a lot.
dude you just jinxed us by claiming all those victories….your way to over confident…
Ausar is indecisive because he knows every shot he misses hurts the team and he heads to the bench. Trade him now while his value is still decent.
I expect Ausar to become atleast at 72% Free Throw shooter. He must shoot 500 free throws daily
The problem with Ausar's role in the offense is that when 4 of the other best players on the team are missing, he can't be visibly scared to do anything offensively. He got the ball in his hands a lot against the Clippers and was just extremely passive for no reason. You know his coaches are telling him to be aggressive, but he seems to be afraid of taking shots or getting fouled and potentially having to take free throws.
In the last 8 games he's averaged 8.5 points per game. You've had Duren, Cade, and Tobias missing a bunch of games in that time. He's also averaged 2 TO's in that time, which is pretty terrible for a guy who doesn't score and averages only 2.3 assists.
This is definitely an issue going forward, and something a good team will exploit in the playoffs and get him taken off of the floor. Mark my words, if Ausar hasn't figured out how to be more aggressive on the offensive end, to the point where he has to be defended, you'll have a guy like Javonte Green playing more minutes than him in the playoffs simply because he'll occasionally knock down a couple threes. We saw JB go away from Ausar in the playoffs last year.
Deeetroit basketball 🏀 Ivey, Tobais and Caris i do understand why they are in trade talks. The Murphy trade is to many 1st round. MPJ can fit I guess. Bennedict Mathurin was the guy I wanted over Ivey in the draft. Asuar should be a Star version of Trevor Azia. Trey Murphy probably is a good fit with his height. 6'6 points guard need to play with another taller 2 guard like 6'8 like Murphy.
Ausar is a horrible offensive player. One the worst in the entire NBA. But he’s not a lost cause. Next year I expect the jump. This year he’s terrible on offense. And it hurts the teams defense
Hot take, but if Ausar individually is included in a Trey Murphey trade, I would pull the trigger. I just don't see Ausar ever getting a consistent jumper… And while yes he can play-make he's not a play-maker if that makes sense. He'll grow and develop as he should, but Tony Allen never truly evolved from the player he was in Memphis or Boston.
Are you not sure what Ausur's role on offense is? I think you need to tell us a 23RD TIME, lol! Just messing: with ya.
the bad side for collin sexton is that he doesn't shoot many threes, just like Caris, just like Ivey, but slightly better
The Pistons need Jaren Jackson. Let's make it happen. 😁
