  3. In the replay…he looks more like he’s trying to stop and brace himself than crosscheck ghost. Man, I kinda feel like that mighta been a dive.

  7. I feel like if it were in regulation we (and Carolina) would be saying ghost went down easier than you’d want a dman in his crease to go down

    It’s not like copp had his arms fully extended, I think ghost was caught off balance and should’ve anticipated more of a battle there

    That said it’s still a penalty and I don’t think it was a dive and I’m delighted to get away with one lol

  8. Canes fans can be mad, but Ghost sold that one a bit too hard.

    Sucks for them, but I couldn’t care less. We’ve had our fair share of missed calls in the past years (remember that “missed” high stick on Ed against Columbus?), so whatever.

  11. IDK… He barely touched him. Looked like a flop. Either way, good to see him getting in position and holding it down in front of the net.

  15. i mean, that was a crosscheck but it was also a comical dive. Copp did not put very much force on that and Ghost collapsed to the ice trying to get a call. Really it’s a shame how bad diving has gotten in the NHL. Every single team does it every single game, including us.

    Oh well Carolina, move along.

  25. I’ve seen that call go both ways plenty of times. Soft cross-check and ghost definitely sold it. Of course if it was the other way around I’d probably be mad too.

  28. Upon further review, watching that in slow motion, that’s a hockey play right there. Ghost needs to plant them trees and not go sledding

  29. I’m just not seeing how people are calling this 100% a cross-check? It’s like 50% because he barely even extends his arms to shove an off-balance Ghost. I also fully admit I have homer glasses on but the view from behind the net (which is closer to the ref’s POV) looks much less forceful

  30. If Ghost hadn’t flopped, Copp wouldn’t have been set up for the goal. He tried to draw a penalty, and lost the gamble. Carolina can eat a big one.

  32. Don’t dive so hard on a soft push and make it easy for the refs to ignore it due to diving. Play like a grown man, then you can complain about a missed call.

  34. 5 on 3 was the result of a terrible call on Raymond. Hurricanes whiffed on stealing Sergei in 98 and now this. Losers
