We’re interviewing former Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon for our open DC position

  1. I wouldn’t be against it. I’m not saying he’s a *great* DC. But I think between DQ and him, we could field a decent defense.

  2. Can he make lemonade out of lemons, because we’re going to have a lot of lemons for him to work on.

  3. People need to realize it’s not just Blough is good OC or not, Dan Quinn needs to make sure our defensive coordinator is good and our defense is good or else he’ll get fired.

  4. I think he would be a good choice. I think he could land a bit like Brian Flores, who had a rough stint as the Dolphins HC (and also rubbed some folks the wrong way), but is a very good DC.

  5. I don’t think we are going to get a high quality DC. Everyone knows if we bust next year DQ is gone so the best will not take the risk.

We also have a very inexperienced OC, so it’s probably best to have someone with someone with a good chunk of experience on defense. I think Gannon may fit the bill.

I watch a bit of the cardinals this year, their defense wasnt good and Gannon looked like he had resigned to being fired early on.

  6. Honest question are we the most attractive opening if being compared to only the cowboys and titans ?

  7. Hmm, its interesting. He turned the Eagles defense from bad/mediocre into top-tier. The year he left they fell off a cliff before recovering in 2024.

I think the question will be his limited track record.

  8. Need to get a good DC.. with roughly 125m in cap space and the draft, the defense can turn around quicker than some think.
Go crazy on getting the pass rush in order, add speed at MLB… a few pieces in the backend and the D will be better!
