I want a PG and a backup C, but not in exchange for Donte. I think he's very very valuable to this team, he just makes winning plays and sets the tone for everyone else. He's often used in mock trades, but If you ask me, I'm not including him in any package that doesn't include a Giannis-like return. Certainly not for a Coby White or a Darius Garland.

I agree
I stand with DDV!
ddv is like a mix of klay and manu ginobli
that guy who would thrive as a 6th man who can be a secondary ball handler while still being solid as a starting guard on a contenders squad
for a cheap ass contract and also shoot bunch of threes i mean a lot a lot
now remove him you can feel an immediate absence in secondary ball handling and perimeter creation
Agreed, it took him a while to win me over but I’d have him as a winning player too. We need that PG but I wouldn’t trade any of our main 6 guys
An underrated aspect of our roster construction is how good our contracts are. Naz may be only arguable one, but rest are huge assets who over deliver.
Donte may have best non rookie contract in league (he is half of a Naz Reid).
I agree, this is a popular opinion
Hope so! My preference is we add a bench rotational point guard, so basically a move on the margins.
My only thing with DDV is I don’t think he should get locked into thinking he’s a forever starter. I still think at some point longterm it’ll be best for Ant to play with a point guard who distributes more and/or can help him create.
Side note: lots of fans and media (including Z.Lowe) have gotten into the “Should the Wolves have kept NAW over Naz”. But my thinking is instead, why couldn’t we have traded Donte, salary dumped Conley, and kept both Naz/NAW? Still, DDV can have some playoff moments for us on the horizon!
Mostly true. I’m sure there’s a trade out there but anything I’ve heard so far is a no from me. He’s fairly big, plays defense, rebounds, hustles. When he’s making 6-7 threes it’s icing on the cake.
I like DDV’s hustle but damn does it hurt when he starts chucking.
I respect him going after the loose ball and interrupting the fast breaks when he does brick a shot tho. His energy can be unmatched
Welcome to the club!
Ant and DDV is an elite back court. One of the best in the NBA
I love his hustle on defense with contests and steals
Who in their right mind would want a trade involving DDV?
100%
Is he perfect? Nobody is. But you’re right, he’s a winner. Dude hustles on both ends and has come up clutch both with us and when he was a Knick. Plus I got to shake his hand one time.
At this point we should be adding talent to help with our depth not subtracting it. A Big that can defend and offers some shooting should be the target.
Not to mention that championship pedigree that we need.
Completely agree. I’ve always been a DDV guy.
The only combo of players that I’d trade would be Conley and Rob for a rotation piece. Other than that I think we’d potentially be making this a worse team by making a trade.
This is a really good team. Fans need to stop looking at our team as a broken mess because it’s not. Going into this past weekend the Wolves had the best record in the NBA since Thanksgiving and everyone in here was still yelling about firing Finch and trading the whole team.
Even when he’s not shooting well he still hustles and sets a tone.
He’s not worth trading for peanuts, especially when he has another year on his contract.
He can go 0-5 in the first half and still win the game for you by going 4-4 in the 2H
I’m very against trading him for a run of the mill pg that will make twice as much as he will
DDV has really come a long way this year at the 1.Better than a 4:1 assist to turnover ratio since Thanksgiving. Great hustle metrics, good rebounder for a guard. He’s doing just about everything you need from a glue guy starter.
Still need someone to eat up Conley’s minutes at this point but I feel comfortable keeping DDV at the 1 for the balance of the year.
I’ve definitely come around to keeping him. I still think we need a PG to come off the bench though. I’d love it if we could get Kris Dunn back. I don’t think he will cost too much, plays legit D and can hit open 3’s. Doesn’t change the dynamic a ton, but gives another weapon off the bench.
I’ve been a DDV fan since we acquired him. I want his dang jersey so bad too
He has greatly improved in his role last couple of months. Way fewer dumb turnovers with even more smart hustle plays. He has played his way for us to stay the course with him.
Now, if Giannis is offered and DDV + Randle or Jaden gets the deal done, I’m willing to make that move.
Gianni + ANT will win a ring next 3 years.
Is anyone trying to trade DDV at the moment? He’s playing really well so I’ll give him the rest of the season, but if he shoots abysmally in the playoffs again, I may reconsider in the summer.
this is where the rob trade is absolutely killing us. all we have are players as assets when we’re primed to go for a moderate move using a first rounder. except we cant use one because we already did on a kid who cant play
100%
You also would be dumb to trade away such a valuable contract.
i might agree but we need a consistent good shooting and passing from him.he’s very unwatchable when his shots dont fall and turns ball over
Even when he’s having a poor shooting night his effort is helpful all across the board.
Do you guys think he can get a triple double today with Ant and Ru out?
I don’t think he’s untouchable, but I wouldn’t want to include him in anything other than a crazy blockbuster type of deal (like Giannis, not saying that I think that would ever happen).
He’s a true 3 and D wing who can handle the ball, hustles hard, fits the culture, and is on an insanely team friendly contract. He’s a serious asset.

We saw what he did against spurs
I 100% agree with the take. He seems to have finally gotten comfortable. Trade around the margin. TJ, Dilly, etc. Keep the top 7 players in place.
Ant, Rudy, DDV, Jaden, Randall, Naz, Bones- need to keep rookie center JB as well. See what you have. All the rest open to be traded. We are finally playing good basketball
It might be a tad different when it’s time for his next contract, but yes agreed. He’d still be a good player but if he’s getting 20-25-30 it’s less advantageous
Just trade rob, tsj and mike conley we need that extra player
He’s also on an incredible contract
