“My name is David Blough, redshirt junior QB at Purdue… This past season I led the Big Ten in completions, attempts, yards, TDs and also in interceptions. We have struggled the past few years and it has been truly humbling… Here at Purdue we have hired Jeff Brohm… What a blessing. Being able to learn under coach Brohm excites me about the future… It would be a dream come true to learn from your staff and serve the next generation of signal callers.”

Archie Manning’s Response: “I was impressed he took the time to write that letter… He always sat in the front row at every staff meeting. He’s right in front of me every day. Really great kid and good player.”

-Some tempo, but LESS than Kliff
-Jayden gets freedom to adjust plays at line
-Build around plays Jayden likes/doesn’t like
-Key changes: If they wanted Kliff’s offense, they’d have kept Kliff
-Diverse run scheme to set up play-action (mastering details/layering calls critical)

👔 MIKE BERCOVICI QB COACH INTERVIEW

Background: Former ASU QB (2011-15), crossed paths with Jayden at ASU as GA (2019), offensive assistant under Kliff with Cardinals (2022), Panthers offensive assistant (2023-present)

Resume: Eagles DC (2021-22), Cardinals HC (2023-25)

Strengths: Teams play fast and hard, guys fly around. Philly defense was historically great.

Blough’s character shines through that 2017 letter – he’s a grinder who sits front row and learns. His offense will differ from Kliff’s with more run diversity and play-action. Another young hire (Bercovici) possible for QB coach. Gannon brings pedigree but has competition.

  7. Bercovici was also a teammate and friend of fellow QB Taylor Kelly at ASU, who happens to be…ding ding ding…Jayden Daniel's personal QB coach. Wouldn't be surprised if prior working relationships didn't somehow lead to them interviewing Berco.

  13. Look at the Texas game last night. Although Commanders need more players, I want a defense that attacks, causes chaos and quick decisions, not that sits back and reacts. Get burned a couple times a game, ok, but also gets 3 and outs, and creates turnovers. Who is delivering that?

  14. Blough is a roll of the dice, especially situational play calling. No one has any idea how he will do. Gotta give Daniels the option of adjustment of calls if he is seeing something different. Lets hope the line does not false start when he does.
