  1. I know everybody wants an offensive minded head coach but it really doesnt matter as long as you get the OC right. Needless to say theres a lot of options for us this cycle.

  2. As a Steelers and Falcons fan, this is a delayed Christmas!

And don’t even think about it Atlanta… Tomlin was fired for very good reasons

  3. This has been the biggest coaching cycle in a while . Andy Reid retiring would be chefs kiss. (I like Andy I just think it’s time to hang it up ) he’s done well

  4. I feel like people are going to be particularly sour on this after the Steelers game last night, but I’ve watched a ton of Steelers football over the years because my wife’s a fan, and they have had no right being as good as they’ve been. Tomlin has straight up worked miracles keeping that team above .500 after Ben started to decline.

  5. he picked arthur smith AFTER his terrible tenure with us. no thanks! don’t trust him with coordinator picks

  6. problem is I dont think the steelers ever fired him. He did this himself because he needs a break from coaching(which to be fair, 19 years of 80 hour weeks is a LOT for a person to handle).

My guess is tomlin is burnt out and he’s gonna take a break before coming back to coaching.

  7. I have a sneaking suspicion he is gonna take a year off. No reason for me to believe this other than vibes.

  8. I was huge on McDaniel, but Tomlin is instantly my number one choice and its not even a debate tbh. Of course id still love any of McDaniel, Harbaugh, and Stefanski, but ill be disappointed if they dont get Tomlin (assuming hes not retiring or taking a break).

  9. There is a wealth of options. Tomlin, Harbaugh, or Stefanski would be great. I’d take McDaniel too. One of those 4 and we’re smiling

  10. YESSSSSSSS… can you imagine him in Atlanta ??? Like he have Atlanta wearing more Steelers gear when they play falcons than anything .. THIS IS THE MOVE

  11. IF he wants to continue coaching AND the front office can assist in brining in a good OC then I’m all for it.

There’s a lot of teams looking for coaches. Curious how a rookie exec in Matt Ryan will help the team attract a HC for the future.

  12. At this point , there’s so many promising coaches available that its hard to have a preference.

I’ll trust in Matt to make the right choice.

  13. I want Tomlin over everyone even harbaugh . Give me the guy that got to the playoffs without a franchise QB instead of the guy that could only make the playoffs with an MVP future hall of Fame QB

  14. We chose the right time to fire Raheem. I feel like we started the massive domino effect. I know it’s daunting to look at all the options, but we need to remember one of the biggest needs is getting the offense under control. Tomlin is a successful coach who is good at in game decisions and he is the definition of stability. But he is not the guy to bring in if we want to reach this offense’s true potential.

  15. I don’t want tomlin. Yeah so what he got his shitty teams into the playoffs just to get bounced.

  16. Fun Fact: The Atlanta Falcons have won a playoff game more recently than the Steelers. Despite us not being in for the last 10 years.

  17. Not good for us. Our candidates suddenly have eyes on another organization that’s had a very low firing rate.

  18. we’re gonna hire Harbaugh, he’s gonna take a year off, next season the Buccs fire Bowels and Tomlin joins the Buccs to resume the rivalry.

  19. another CEO coach, gone. it’s inevitable. the league is moving on. question is if the Falcons are smart enough to realize it

  20. The fact that Steelers’ fans had been booing and chanting “Fire Tomlin” after he never had a losing season in 19 years makes me feel a little better that our fans aren’t the only idiots out there.

  21. Can’t say he had a losing regular season. But boy it’s been tough in the playoffs

  22. My first thoughts… I think Tomlin’s got a good track record, but I don’t think he’s the guy for us… he may not be the guy for anyone if he’s really stepping down on his own free will.

    So…

Personally, I want a head coach that is an offensive play caller so we don’t have to run through the possibility of having to hire new coordinators every few years if they end up being good. Take McVay and the Rams as an example. Offensive guru with a whole team focus on scoring points and a defense that does just enough and builds through the draft.

Secondly, we already have a tough QB situation and Tomlin has had some “iffy” choices at QB since Big Ben. Maybe it was a take what we can get deal but still… We don’t need that right now.

But I’m just a guy who watches football from his couch so what do I know? lol!
