Can you really blame him? I wouldn’t want to move back to Ohio either
Not sure why we would be heated at Schwarbs. Guy took less money to be where he wanted to play, which is what we as fans typically laud a player for when they do. Doesn’t seem like he strung the Reds along and also sounds like he personally contacted them to give the news. Can’t see what he would have done wrong to dislike him more than any other opposing player we play.
The fact remains their offer was less AAV then the Pirates and less overall then the Orioles or the Phillies.
If they were going to offer more money and wanted him then they should have made that offer to begin with and let him choose. I don’t think he ever wanted to come here, he was asked a question and he said the right thing about how it would be cool to play for the hometown team.
The Reds came in with the lowest offer to start that is on them being a cheap organization not on Schwarber.
