  1. Forgot my boy cash considerations

#Rosenthal: Cardinals will pay $31M of the $42M left on Nolan Arenado’s contract.

  2. Of all the NL West teams I’m at least happy that Nolan went to the one where I’m like “oh alright”

  3. >cash considerations

yo this dude just can’t STOP gettin’ traded xD ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ because he is a guy named Cash ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  4. “Diamondbacks are paying $5M this year and $6M next year of the $42M left on Nolan Arenado’s deal, a source says.”

Great value for the Dbacks, I know everyone thinks Arenado is washed (and he’s definitely on the decline) but he was still a 1.5 WAR player last year, brings a veteran presence to the team, and Arizona is a great hitters park.

As a Rockies fan I want to throw up.

  5. Best of luck, Nado. I remember driving from central Illinois to the Cardinals team store in St Louis the day they announced they had his jerseys in stock.

  6. Great trade for the Dbacks. Arenado isnโ€™t what he once was, but heโ€™s a good player still. To get him for free is great.

  7. He signed an 8yr, $260m deal with $50m of it deferred. He has $42m remaining of deferred money while his salary for 2026-27 is $16m+$15m.

So would the $31m owed of $42m left mean of what’s covered over the deferrals?

I’m so confused with his contract lol.

  8. Aka the Diamondbacks get Nolan Arenado and the majority of his remaining contract paid by St. Louis for nothing

  9. I’m still flabbergasted that Colorado traded him to the Cards and gave St. Louis $50 million to take him.

  10. Wow thats all it took? With them eating a lot of salary, you’d think they’d get something better back.

  11. Man father time and poor team performance has really tanked my boy Arenado’s play and value. I hope he gets back to at least a 250. 25 HR. 80 RBIs sort of stat line because his power has vanished ๐Ÿ˜ญ

  12. Thought this was Justin Martinez at first! And was blown away. And now itโ€™s just oh.

  13. Itโ€™s a salary dump then! Oh wait weโ€™re paying most of the salaryโ€ฆ so uhhh whatโ€™s in it for us?

  14. Nolan Arenado was just a “player to be named later” in the Goldschmidt trade ๐Ÿคฃ

  15. Man, what if the D Backs still had Goldschmidt? Imagine an infield with Goldie and Arenado at the corners

  16. D’Backs basically get Arenado for a guy who was Arizona State’s #3 starter last year…as in the Sunday starter. Who, oh, was a mop-up guy at UL Lafayette the year before and entered the transfer portal.

Not to mention, Rockies are already covering five mil of this deal.
