Forgot my boy cash considerations
#Rosenthal: Cardinals will pay $31M of the $42M left on Nolan Arenado’s contract.
Didnโt even know who he was Iโll take thjs
โcash considerationsโ doing some heavy lifting here
Of all the NL West teams I’m at least happy that Nolan went to the one where I’m like “oh alright”
>cash considerations
yo this dude just can’t STOP gettin’ traded xD ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ because he is a guy named Cash ๐๐๐๐๐
23yo 8th rounder with no minor league innings ๐ช
Arenado for free basically
Damn. They were pretty serious talks.
“Diamondbacks are paying $5M this year and $6M next year of the $42M left on Nolan Arenado’s deal, a source says.”
Great value for the Dbacks, I know everyone thinks Arenado is washed (and he’s definitely on the decline) but he was still a 1.5 WAR player last year, brings a veteran presence to the team, and Arizona is a great hitters park.
I originally read it as 8th overall pick and I almost lost my shit lol
cash considerations may earn more WAR than Arenado at this point of his career
Holy salary dump Batman, Cardinals are paying $31m of the $42m left
Lowest risk trade of my life
Best of luck, Nado. I remember driving from central Illinois to the Cardinals team store in St Louis the day they announced they had his jerseys in stock.
Idk that seems like a great trade for the DBacks
Great trade for the Dbacks. Arenado isnโt what he once was, but heโs a good player still. To get him for free is great.
Cardinals are in full tank mode.
Padre Killer is back in the NL West :-/
If the Diamondbacks donโt want to play Lawlar, they should trade him
what.
He signed an 8yr, $260m deal with $50m of it deferred. He has $42m remaining of deferred money while his salary for 2026-27 is $16m+$15m.
So would the $31m owed of $42m left mean of what’s covered over the deferrals?
I’m so confused with his contract lol.
Cardinals hit em with the olโ Rocky Mountain special trade deal
WHAT
Better you then me
Aka the Diamondbacks get Nolan Arenado and the majority of his remaining contract paid by St. Louis for nothing
Back in the NL West
I’m still flabbergasted that Colorado traded him to the Cards and gave St. Louis $50 million to take him.
Wow thats all it took? With them eating a lot of salary, you’d think they’d get something better back.
Arte Moreno in shambles
The Pittsburgh pirates are officially the 4th best team in the NL Central
Man father time and poor team performance has really tanked my boy Arenado’s play and value. I hope he gets back to at least a 250. 25 HR. 80 RBIs sort of stat line because his power has vanished ๐ญ
Angles fans can now breathe a sigh of relief
Thought this was Justin Martinez at first! And was blown away. And now itโs just oh.
I’m very ok with this lol
What.
Mr. Cash Considerations, a hero of my immaculate grid.
Itโs a salary dump then! Oh wait weโre paying most of the salaryโฆ so uhhh whatโs in it for us?
Nolan Arenado was just a “player to be named later” in the Goldschmidt trade ๐คฃ
Man, what if the D Backs still had Goldschmidt? Imagine an infield with Goldie and Arenado at the corners
D’Backs basically get Arenado for a guy who was Arizona State’s #3 starter last year…as in the Sunday starter. Who, oh, was a mop-up guy at UL Lafayette the year before and entered the transfer portal.
Not to mention, Rockies are already covering five mil of this deal.

As a Rockies fan I want to throw up.
Cardinals are paying $31 million of the remaining $42 million, according to [Rosenthal](https://xcancel.com/ken_rosenthal/status/2011131819899695560?). As pure of a salary dump as it can get
