  5. Even having played the most games I’m the NHL Detroit is first in the Eastern Conference with Kasper providing no offense this season and being moved to wing, MBN and Danielson both being sent to the AHL, ASP frequently being benched while already playing limited minutes.

    In an odd way this speaks to how bright our future really is and how well the culture has been built this year and how great the coaching has been and how excellent the front office has been in Detroit and Grand Rapids too, because those players are going to get more experience, more confidence and develop more and more NHL functional skills and abilities.

    Look at how well Yzerman has developed Raymond and Seider, while helping DeBrincat to become a goal scorer who is now a two-way 200 foot player that is also very good at setting up his teammates.

    Watching the Yzerman regime also develop NHL veterans like DeBrincat, Copp and Chiarot into better versions of themselves in Detroit bodes extremely well for all of our young, inexperienced and raw prospects; even if they may be currently struggling right now.

  13. Any Pavement fans here? The Tigers play the Cubs @ Wrigley July 20-22. Pavement just announced a show in Chicago on July 22. Looks like I’m heading to the Windy City for a “double play” of baseball and indie rock.

  15. I am so tired of looking at the standings and seeing that Detroit has played 2 or 3 games more than the other top teams in the division CAN WE PLEASE JUST TAKE A BREAK AND LET THOSE TEAMS PLAY SO WHEN I LOOK AT STANDINGS I’M LOOKING AT SOMETHING THAT IS SLIGHTLY LESS OF AN ILLUSION?

  26. Huge game for Wings! Boston is a big physical team and will most likely try to pound the Wings.. What playoff hockey will  be like in April, should be a great test for Wings.. LGRW!!

  35. Not sure if this has been reported here yet, but Shayne Gostisbehere is out for the rest of the season after Andrew Copp cut him in half last night. Doctors are treating him with a new “earthworm” cure they think may result in two, smaller, Gostibeheres

  36. Mountain time zone may be best for sports watching. East coast games start 5-530. Big championship games start at 6:30. College or NFL start at 10 and 11.
