I know Young will come at some point to play the one. But man I would love to see Tre get reps at PG and Bub moved to Shooting guard. He 20th in the league at Catch and Shoot

Let him set himself somewhere and dish the ball to him to shoot. Would give Tre Johnson ball handling reps to get more comfortable like we saw in the Summer League.

Also while we at it, put Alex Sarr at 4 and Bagley at 5. Play them together. I want to see more PnR and Lob practice with Tre Johnson before Trae Young gets into the lineup.

  1. I think the art of the tank is to play players in different positions to help make them more rounded (and still lose a lot of games)

In Bub’s case he is average sized and a very pedestrian athlete. For him to succeed in the league he really needs to be a good shooter (which is a work in progress) AND be a decent ball handler and help defender IMO. I think playing him at PG is a way to improve his ball skills in the short term.

  2. It’s hard to imagine watching these games and thinking Tre should be a PG. He just isn’t that level of ballhandler.

  3. I hope its obvious to the FO that he is a SG and not a PG. I really hope the long term plan for him is not PG.

  4. No reason to give Tre significant reps at a position you know he won’t play, especially when he’s so good at SG, and our team already splits time at point. Also, Bub is only averaging .6 more turnovers per game than Tre despite significant PG reps.
