Probably just weren’t aware and it was a national game that ESPN/TNT in the past typically wouldn’t show that part.
No one should be shocked by this. People see something out of context, see what someone says about it and take it at face value and don’t confirm/verify the information they just processed.
Media literacy is a huge fucking problem these days that go far beyond Rumble beating a drum before and during a game.
How to distinguish people that don’t watch the games. I guarantee they’ve shown the drums at least once during previous playoff games.
Small town team curse: no one actually watches us and if we win they hate us. It’s not unique to OKC or NBA.
The “sports drum intro rumble” likely refers to the iconic thunderous drum roll used at the beginning of the Chicago Bulls player introductions, which was first introduced for the 1990-1991 NBA season.
ESPN trying to stir shit up on social media is patheticโฆโฆfuck the spurs and their stupid post game off beat drum session if they win the game. Ainโt nobody got time for thatโฆ.
*Storm themed team beats a drum and claps to make thunder sounds*
I think the even funnier thing is that the Spurs stole their chant from the Vikings Skol chant. They use the drum, they do the above the head clap and have been doing for far longer than both the Spurs and thunder.

Just pulled up a random one, Game 4 2016 WCSF vs. Spurs, [you can see Rumble on the jumbotron](https://i.imgur.com/VgZoygG.gif) beating the drum lmfao. And then we clap, [and then Kernkraft starts playing](https://youtu.be/gbcG2TI4GBk?si=JzU1MDZ7wCOikRwt&t=116).

Everyone knows the drum was invented in southern Texas circa 2025.
Who cares! Itโs a drumโฆ they have been around for a few thousand years. Just drink their tears and we can move on
