Practice update

  1. Vrabel rushing Gonzalez back to practice today after his concussion led him to exit the chargers game is not even surprising coming from Vrabel. I expect Nico to miss but it shows all you need to know about how Vrabel cares about his player’s health

  2. I’d be shocked if Nico clears protocol for this game. If it was bad enough to get carted off I can’t see him coming back in a week. I’d even question if he’d be back for the championship game if they advance.

  3. Luckily our WR depth is much more robust this year. We need Higgins, Noel, Hutchinson to step up and Kirk to keep up his performance.

  4. Next man up, time for Noel to start taking a bigger role. He was a 3rd rounder. Higgins and Kirk will be our main targets.

  5. If it’s any consolation, we’ve won against good opponents this year without Nico or with very minimal production Nico. We beat the niners and most of the colts starters without him, the chargers and buffalo with very minimal output from Nico, and now a playoff game vs a very solid defense with practically 0 output.

Obviously this is incredibly rough for us, but I don’t think we should collapse into doom mode, our other receivers have shown they can almost always step up just enough so far

  6. Nice on Jordan and unfortunate but understandable for Nico. Hoping for a speedy recovery!

  7. Dang. If Nico is going to be out I was hoping Gonzo would be out too.

I guess gonzo will be on higgins or if they don’t respect the wrs with out nico, guess just float him? Regardless we need a big game from higgin, Kirk, schultz and maybe Noel

  8. Just an update from Patriot land, Gonzalez is practicing today according to Vrabel’s midday presser.

  9. I just hope we aren’t in the situation where we go “damn, could really use nico out there”

  10. Given they are older veterans Brown and Autry not practicing isn’t a big deal. Collins and Watson both we should prepare not to see at all. Luckily we are pretty deep still and can use Barrios or one of the practice squad receivers if needed.

  11. Trent and Autry are likely just resting and should be good for the game. Jordan practicing is great news since Woody seems to get somehow taken out of every game with an injury and they play similarly. Nico is likely not playing this week and I doubt if we make it to the AFCCG that he would play in that either.

  12. Foxborough without Nico will be trouble. However, Kirk and the rookies showed they can step up.

  13. I think Jawhar Jordan is going to be a big addition. Even though Marks and Chubb did very well, they’re both two different versions of the same type of running back. Jawhar Jordan is a big time change of pace and it shows.

  14. Autry frequently misses first practice of the week. There’s no indication Trent made his injury worse though, right? Hoping this is just a rest day for him and he’s still good to go.

  15. Guys as a Physical therapist…. I think Collin’s is out for the rest of the playoff season. That was a direct hit on the turf with no cushion. Maybe superbowl if we get there
