3. So look, I've been posting a good while that Lafreniere strikes me as a lazy player. 99% effort in this league is not good enough. Laffy started last season promising until he signed the contract and that slight drop off in effort sank his ship, and I said this season's success depends on Laffy waking up which obviously hasn't happened.

   It's not too late for this player if he'd just WTFU and start training like a madman! With Bread there's actually a world where they sign him. For the right price he's got 2-3 years of stardom in him, at least in the regular season. We'll see how the dominos fall on this miserable season….

   If they want to tank,they should literally go down fighting, because tough guys are the only thing Rangers have a big supply of in the AHL. Fans at least would enjoy games again.
   Will they do that? Hell no.

12. Agree 100% Brett. The Rangers never treated Laf like he was ready to be a key player on this team and ironically, that became true. If you look at SJ and CHI, there is no question who the franchise has trusted their future to. The Rangers didn't even trust Laf with PP2 minutes for 5 years.

    Why trade Pan – simple (a) not winning with him – so has NO hockey value only entertainment value
    (b) need to get his cap money off the books
    (c) not scoring with him (how many times already shut out this year?)
    (d) He is like 6 or 7th highest paid player in the league…are u kidding me

15. Idk about Svenberg. The way you're talking about him is very reminiscent of how people would talk about Kakko vs Hughes and we all saw how that turned out. McKenna should be the only target and anyone other than him is settling imo.

20. I'm all for a Fire Sale and tanking for a chance at the #1 pick. But zero NYR fans trust Drury to bring back good young talent in trades

22. It isn't a question of tanking, it's simply a matter of managing. If Chris Drury lets Panarin walk, he is a poor excuse for a manager, it's just that simple. The Rangers need to win 70% of their remaining games, at least, to make the playoffs; anyone with a little bit of common sense knows what the likelihood of that is. He can get a first for Panarin, possibly another one for Trocheck; and another decent pick for Schneider .. 3 picks in the first round of one of the deepest drafts we've had in the last decade and a good chance one of those 3 picks is a top one? And… you might draft 2 guys who will be in the top six as soon as next season! And you already have at least 2 on your roster in JT and Zibanderjad already in the top 6, leaving Perreault, Lafreneiere, Cuylle, Laba and whoever else there may be to duke it out for the other 2 spots. That might not be a terrible place to start, especially when you consider about $20 million is off the books with the 3 guys and the cap increase.

23. Take all the talented players away from lafreniere- and put him on a line with nobodies- will he make them better? No! He's not worth the investment or a rebuild around him. He's just not a good player. He's average and that's what no one will admit in the organization. For all you youngins, if a player with talent was drafted and played in the NHL, his impact would be seen by the 2nd season. If he didn't pan out, he'd be transformed into a checking winger, sent back down or traded. Rangers have been too patient with this kid. As far as Drury goes, he needs to pull off a trade for talent. This is msg and the nyr- there's no patience in waiting to win.
