it’s so beautiful

  1. Say what you want about Breslow, but it’s clear he knows what he’s doing when it comes to building a pitching staff.

  2. As someone who has been extremely critical of the front office I would say my biggest off-season want was a SP2. Even before Bregman.

So, if losing Bregs was the cost to a stud rotation, then I am all for it personally. Still think another trade will be coming now. Good to have depth, but they are stacked at the moment.

  3. who needs bats when you have fifteen starting pitchers

that’s not an exaggeration btw, we actually have that many on the 40-man roster

    Crochet

    Suarez

    Grey

    Bello

    Oviedo

    Tolle

    Early

    Harrison

    Bennett

    Houck

    Crawford

    Sandoval

    Sandlin

    Drohan

    Uberstine

Edit to clarify: this isn’t a negative comment, I’m very happy we signed Ranger Suarez, I just find the roster situation very funny

  4. I’ve had Ranger on my fantasy baseball team the past 2 seasons. Aside from the IL stints, he’s a fantastic pitcher.

  5. I’ve stopped complaining about Quinn Priester now that we have the best 5 or 6-man starting rotation in baseball.

  6. I’d love to see it come to fruition and be a dominant rotation, but as the saying goes, teams aren’t built on paper. It is theoretically a better starting spot than many of the last seasons.

  7. I wonder who’s not going to be here come March. They can’t keep everyone yet I doubt they want to trade Tolle and in most cases Early.

Krawford looks like a trade casualty to me. No clue what Sandoval’s trade value is.

  8. put Tolle at third and let him hit and use him as an occasional reliever if we need it. he can play both ways well enough.

  9. The rotation is elite, but you’re still missing at least one bat.

The good news is you have a lot of pitching depth to trade from and you still have an outfielder to trade to make it happen.

…Assuming Breslow wants to make something happen.

  10. I read this as “we may never get the runs again.”

    Either way…I couldn’t be happier.

  11. In all fairness, Houck’s not really a starter. He had half of a good season as a starter. He needs to be in the ‘pen. That’s an issue for 2027, though, as he’ll be out all of 2026.

  12. Id like to see them trade for a major league ready infielder at this point like a Sebastian Walcott or Sal Stewart if the Rangers/Reds would be down to deal. They have the prospect depth and major league ready players to do it.

  13. Wait. We scored a bunch of runs last year. Same guys – Bregman (who missed a third of the season) + Contreras. I’m not worried.

  14. Staff potential is outstanding. But I can’t let them off the hook for not getting Bregman or Alonso. Still being cheap with the necessary commitments needed for a stud bat. Have some time though, a trade should and I think will happen. Get an above average 3rd or 2nd basemen and it’s ALCS or bust.

  15. We’re gonna be the first team to take advantage of the Manfred Man to win despite the opposing pitcher throwing a perfect game (9.2 innings)
