AJho or JBD . AJHO Had a decent week, other then that he’s been our weakest not name harmonic. Front office needs to bring Anderson or Hamilton to bolster the back end.. Pull the trigger the East is wide open this yr!!
He’s been playing amazing in the AHL. Makes sense to rotate him in with someone who has not been playing well at all
wonder if he’s part of a deal or they’ve finally found a taker. Friedman has said a couple times now that they have been trying to find a ‘new home’ for him.
At this point, I think Yzerman us using the extra roster spot as a “thank you” to the veterans in GR. He calls them up, they get an NHL sized game check, and it doesn’t impact his cap space at all, keeps a roster spot free should a trade opportunity come up, and he gets to reward his players in GR.
Should see Shine, Watson, and probably Holl and Mitchell also get a call up.

I had some hope he would bounce back this year. Obviously I was ecstatic when ASP proved ready to take his spot, but he went down and got his confidence up in the A so if we have to use him to spot fill I will choose to be optimistic. Or it could definitely just be to reward him or work on getting some trade interest, we will see.
Keep him away.

I would love to see Gus get back to form full time in the NHL, and not just for the Wings’ sake. I never thought he was going to be as good as his early peak year in Chicago, but he definitely is not as bad as he was last year. Dude can play, and I hope if he gets a shot at the active roster that he finds his form.
I would not be a bit surprised if ASP gets a chance to just sit. I think it’s starting to show with the grind of an NHL season and he’s definitely not used to it.
A game or two in the press box wouldn’t hurt and I’m hoping the Olympic break will help reset him more.
Pre-Olympic trade freeze showcase to get an asset to bundle at the deadline.
The deadline market has become insanely inflated. I bet he gets some PP time, and we move him for a 2nd or 3rd.

Think there may be several reasons for this. One is to move ASP down but I’m not sure Gustafson is a better option at 2RD and AlJo and ASP together may be a disaster. Two, don’t think it’s much of a secret that they want to make a trade. May be a way to show improvements in Gus’ game and he’s going to be a part of a package. Three, could be an injury and hopefully it’s not one of Seider, Ed or Chiarot.
As for ASP, he has to be pretty exhausted with what they have him doing. He looks overwhelmed at times lately and needs an opportunity to be in a better situation. He should benefit greatly from the 2 week break.
I’m starting to think the front office is just fucking with us now.
