I’m just going to say it. If the Falcons have a chance to hire Mike McDaniel and don’t, the league should launch a formal investigation.

Mike McDaniel is the best offensive mind available. That’s not a hot take, that’s just reality. Mike should and will be a head coach.

McDaniel is the perfect match for Atlanta:

The Falcons play in a dome. They also get a guaranteed dome road game every year, plus multiple games in the deep South. If Mike McDaniel ends up running his offense in perfect conditions on a weekly basis, that’s not Atlanta’s fault. That’s on the rest of the league for letting it happen.

At that point, everyone else should be sent to jail. Defensive coordinators, front offices, the competition committee, all of them. You had a chance to stop this and chose vibes instead.

McDaniel’s offense is built on speed, timing, and stress. Take away weather, add heat, and suddenly you’ve created a system that feels borderline illegal.

Age matters too. Mike McDaniel realistically has 20 plus years of coaching runway left. This isn’t a short term rental or a bridge hire. This is a lock him in and let him cook for two decades situation.

And here’s the key parts: Mike McDaniel is the most likely candidate to retain Jeff Ulbrich.

Ulbrich has the defense actually looking competent, which in Atlanta feels illegal by itself. McDaniel has shown he values strong coordinators and isn’t threatened by keeping good football people in place. Pair an elite offensive mind with a defense that already has an identity and suddenly you’re not rebuilding. You’re just good.

Not wanting Mike McDaniel as the Falcons head coach is an all time I have not thought this through but I feel strongly anyway take.

Falcons fans, do not overthink this.

Don’t Falcons this.

  1. I want him as an OC not HC but yeah. He is the best offensive mind available. People don’t realize but the league has been copying him. Even some of the stuff Kyle does. He’s just not a good HC.

  2. Can someone explain to me the recent push for McDaniel recently? Not saying it’ll be a bad hire, but wanna understand why suddenly most people on here want him, especially with how it finished in Miami and since not too long ago it was Kubiak or bust on this sub.

  3. I feel like Stefanski is the best of both worlds, offensive minded “guru” that is also the CEO coach…I love the idea of Kubiak but he makes me nervous with the lack of experience

  4. He’s a .500 coach and 0-2 in the playoffs. Sounds like Atlanta material already. Remember when this whole sub was echoing “we just need to get a coach who knows how to win” yall are a hive mind for real.

  5. Never knew his Dad was black. Thought he was spanish mixed lol. But yeah, if Mike showed up with braids, it wouldnt even be cutural appropriation lol

  6. I feel like the McDaniel love is mostly built on vibes, or identifing with his personal story, or happily remembering one game against the Broncos two years ago.

His career record is 35-33. He has been to two playoff games and lost them both. His teams have typically come apart at the seams in December and January every year because they’re built on speed and lack physicality and good fundamental blocking and tackling.

I think if we hired him we’re really likely to continue being a 7 or 8 win team but just this time more skills position strength and less in the trenches. He’s good for your fantasy football team but not your real life team.

  7. I agree been saying it

I want McDaniel first (with ulbrich)

If we dont get him I’ll setting for kubiak … even harbaugh

  8. For all the hating we did on Raheem being a losing coach when we hired him, the calls for McDaniel are kinda wild. If we got him as OC that would be amazing but he has not really shown he can be a winning HC

  9. I’d love that nerd for OC but we can’t have another dude in capris on the sidelines as our HC.

  10. I’ve been here since I heard he was gone from the dolphins. We have the defense in place. Ulbright has that shit locked down. We give this guy a generational talent like Bijan to work around? Shit man. He’s gonna go on and kill it. Probably w grampa Kirk.

  11. Mike mcdaniels will be a good fit for our young offense, Penix could be a better lefty QB version of Tua imo

  12. Yea our DC has done a great job last season. McDaniels offensive creativity would help a tons and they can bounce ideas off each other. We just need a competent QB, go get Malik Willis
