  1. Can’t say I’ve ever heard of him but there are a lot of Mets writers/Prospect writers who say he’s pretty good

  2. he’s a 20 year old A ball pitcher you guys gotta get off the ledge

decent velo for a lefty but still on the low end, around 91-92. good slider and cutter with a “good enough” 4 seam and sinker (guys who throw multiple fastballs has been a trend lately). change up needs work, and he excelled at low A but hit a bit of a wall in 6 starts at high A. solid pickup for some excess INTL $.

  3. Man those one run games are really gonna pay off with all these pitchers we have, we’ll have a chance to win right up till we fail to score and lose.

Please sign a bat soon, I get we are a pitching factory but we need offense.

  4. Oh no they traded for a young pitcher who is years away from the majors! This obviously prohibits them from making any further moves to address the big league lineup! Settle down doomers, the only real conclusion you can draw is that they like this kid more than whoever they could have signed with the pool money.

  5. Thank god.

I was worried we weren’t going to do anything significant this offseason.

  6. Given their international pitching scouting hasn’t really produced anything of note, I’d say it’s prolly best to scalp int pitchers from other teams after there is league date. To be determined what happens. I often wish they went big on the top guys 2-5m just to see what that life’s like. Gabriel Rodriguez must have put a bad taste in their mouths

  7. Simply playing the numbers, the chances of a pitcher signed with whatever small amount of IFA cap is being sent here making high A is minimal. Buying a guy like Gomez who is already out of the rookie complex puts them ahead in that regard.

Also consider most of those IFA moves are shook on years beforehand when the kid is like 14, it is much more likely Cleveland makes this deal because they simply had no one else on their radar worth signing than actually doing it instead of signing someone. International amateurs do not exist in a free market.

  8. The Guardians Front Office proves yet again that even the margins have margins to add to

  9. Basically we paid $1.5 million for a former international signing with less risk due to his time in pro ball. Instead if signing a 16 year old, you signed (via trade) a guy closer to the Bigs. Seems a safe and low risk move
