  1. There are a lot of reasons why someone might not want to buy the Padres but location isn't one of them. A beautiful city with a beautiful park and a team as competitive as an owner wants it to be.

  12. Someone needing something to write about so they just make up something about a team that only people in Southern California really care about?? lol where there's smoke there's fire! Not saying they're leaving but this isn't the first time we've heard of an owner wanting to buy the franchise and move it to a different city

  14. It isn’t like SD hasn’t lost 4 other major sports franchises. Right? Time to accept the fact that SD is a cursed sports city. Record attendance and sellouts aren’t making enough money to sustain this team and the debt. Money talks. BS walks. Those that say it won’t happen haven’t lived long enough in this world.

In theory a new owner could slash payroll and sabotage the franchise to the point where no one supports or comes to the games except visiting fans (think last decade) then after a few years of basement dwelling uses it as justification to convince the league to allow the move. Remember the movie major league? Definitely not ideal for fans but theses days nothing surprises me anymore good or bad. Although it would just be seamless and uplifting if new ownership can take the reigns and add to Peter's dream while taking us to the heights that we always seem to come up short to.
