The thing that sucks the most to me is it just kills the hope of having a chance to win in this window.
Most aggressive and successful era in Padres history, and it got absolutely nuked by an opposing team. And not just any team, but the fucking Dodgers of all teams.
I’m glad it will probably force a salary cap, but it won’t matter for this era. Existing contracts will certainly be grandfathered in somehow. If they aren’t, the Dodgers will make it a legal hell for years, and MLB won’t want that.
