This guy has fielded a top ~5 defense everywhere he’s gone and is being interviewed by everyone with an opening. If there’s one defensive coach I would be ecstatic to get, it’s Jesse Minter

I think he goes Ravens but if they aren’t convinced by any of the offensive candidates I’d be amped for him. Chargers are like 31st in defensive spending and he’s gotten top 10 play out of them.
Minter was one of my top candidates if we weren’t going to retain Ulbrich. I’m still very high on him.

Wouldn’t mind this, like how many names we have in the hat honestly. However, for whatever reason, the more we interview people the more I think we’re just stalling until Kubiak is done with his playoff run
I need Kubiak to take a respectable loss on Saturday so that we can get this over with.
He’s not my preferred choice (I want to go offense), but we could do worse. For anyone asking “who?”:
Jesse Minter is a brilliant young defensive mind. Formerly on John Harbaugh’s Ravens staff. When Michigan’s defense couldn’t cut it, Jim called his brother and said “I need NFL caliber help.” John gave him Mike MacDonald and Minter. After MacDonald went back to the NFL Minter became DC and won the natty in 2023. That got him poached by Harbaugh and into his current Chargers DC job.
As a fan of both teams I had hoped that Raheem would hire Minter as DC for the Falcons two years ago, but Raheem’s gonna Heem! Again Minter isn’t my first choice and the fans won’t like it, but we can and have done worse. I don’t want to be in OC hiring purgatory forever, but seeing what Minter could do with these defensive rookies would be exciting.
Are we sure we want one of the guys who cheated his way to a college title?
