2. Dont agree with your anger over not landing Tucker & bashing Stearns 4 it. He definately has underachieved but Tucker isnt his fault. Mets offered $200 million 4 years and got outbid handing $60 million a year for Tucker. which is absurd on its face! What's next a $100 million dollars player?? Absolutely ridiculous!!

24. Ray, you’re right. Everything you’re saying is spot on. I appreciate Dan’s positivity. It’s cute, but he’s really reaching here for positive things to say about this team right now when they are a complete train wreck. We could forget about competing in 2026. The only question is: will we even be competing in 2027 and ‘28?

    The Mets are in a tough spot bc they spend too much to get good draft picks and now hardly any stars want to come here. At least crappy teams like the pirates get guys like Paul skenes through draft picks. The Mets never get the top prospect. So unless they pay through the nose, like $70 mil AAV for a Kyle Tucker who is not even a superstar, they get no one. Soto was a fluke and even he is only here bc of a massive overpay.

    It’s disheartening but I don’t blame the team this time. It is what it is. I blame Stearns for losing Pete and Diaz though, and they wouldn’t even be in this desperate position right now if not for that. The Dodgers would’ve gone to $80 mil a year if they had to.

    And people need to STOP calling Steve Cohen the richest owner in all of sports. HE IS NOT. The Dodgers made more revenue than every other mlb team last year and the group that owns their team is worth $335 BILLION. I don’t care about individual owners worths and that Steve Cohen is the highest. The group that owns the group that owns the Dodgers is worth MORE THAN 10x Steve Cohen. You can’t compete with that.

28. Bellinger is better for us and we will sign him for 5 years with an opt out after 4. He wants 225 million dollars give him a 35 annual AAV for a total of 180 million dollars plus a signing bonus. To make sure we don’t get our bid we should be looking to give him 40 AAV for 5 years and then give him a 25 million dollars plus signing bonus! We are also signing Suarez for 70 million and trading for Schubal! Especially after what just happened to us with Tucker!

30. Pete didn’t wanna be a DH and he’s a DH! No matter how good is power numbers are, his defense will also be a liability! Yeah he can hit a 4 run homer grand slam but he can also allow an error to occur with the bases loaded in yankee stadium and allow 4-5 runs to score too
